Northampton Blue Devils Wrestling Summary: The Varsity Wrestling team had their best overall season in a four year time span. The squad set four year highs this season and earned 145 individual victories, 111 reversals, 136 near-falls, and 675 dual meet team points. With NO varsity football, varsity cross country, varsity golf, varsity soccer, varsity baseball, varsity lacrosse, varsity tennis, or varsity track participants on the team, these young men fought for every match, takedown and point to try to secure a single team victory for the Blue Devils. The team gave away 666 available points this season due to lack of participation, making any team victory hard to come by. They set a four year high with 8 team victories. Sophomore, Jake Intrator led the team with 23 wins and led the team in takedowns (33) and near falls (34). Junior, Elvin Rodriguez led the team with 111 dual meet points, 16 pins and 24 reversals. Three sophomores and a senior also tallied double digit wins. Mike Catuogno had 18 wins. Sophomores, Timmy Callahan (11 wins), Will Hannum (18 wins), and A.J. Chatterton (14 wins) will add to the strong nucleus for what could be another record breaking 2009-2010 campaign.
