A world of miniatures and war-gaming from the distant past to the far flung future!
City of Gold
"Dinosaurs in the twenty-first century? That was only the first mystery
that confronted the Time Lord and his Companions when they set out to
investigate a violent revolution in an age of turmoil, and stumbled into
a plot that could end human history -- and change the universe forever.
A lost city and a vanished race from the depths of time and hold
the key to the destiny of the Earth, unless the adventurers can
penetrate the mysteries of the City of Gold."
is difficult to translate an RPG scenario into a wargame as the two
rarely mix. However, the Larger than Life (LtL) rule set from Two Hour
flexible enough to be used with RPG scenarios.
So, over the
Christmas 2010 holidays, I finally got the chance to dust off my copy of
City of Gold and did some gaming. Those familiar with City of Gold will
notice some subtle changes from the RPG scenario. Those familiar with
LtL will recognise the underlying game mechanics. I haven't documented
every dice roll (e.g. challenges) so as to keep the narrative flowing.
