Nursing School in Uganda needs <BR>YOUR help!

Subject: Request for Sponsorship I am soliciting for financial assistance to fund our Proposed Nursing Training School in Kaberamaido District, Uganda.

Uganda is a third world country in Africa where health is a far cry from being a reality.We have identified that the biggest problem in the District of Kaberamaido, Soroti Diocese and other surrounding districts is lack of local qualified personnel capable of working in the local health units now being established plus giving health services in the communities as whole.The initiative to start-up the Nursing Training School is to mould a comprehensive nurse capable of working in the rural/local environment in these districts.I am soliciting financial assistance towards this project; hence, I am inquiring whether I can send our project proposal for consideration.

The following is our brief project proposal Summary;PROJECT TITLE:   “ST. PETER’S NURSES TRAINING SCHOOL – LWALA: AN INITIATIVE TO PROVIDE NURSES TRAINING TO THE COMMUNITY OF KABERAMAIDO DISTRICT(UGANDA) AND SURROUNDING  AREAS SO IN TURN THE TRAINED NURSES CAN HELP TO SUPPORT HOSPITALS, CLINICS ETC IN THE AREAS THAT PROVIDE HEALTH CARE TO THE COMMUNITI

1.1 Name of the organisation : St. Peter’s Nurses Training School – Lwala.

1.2 Project Type: Privately-founded education institution, for Nurses training with community-based mission and support.

1.3 Project Centre/Location: Lwala  Village, Lwala Parish, Otuboi Sub-County, Kaberamaido District (originally Soroti District).

1.4 Project Proposer: St. Peter’s Nurses Training School – Lwala.

1.5 Project Description:Provision of standard Nurses training to the health workers for betterment of the health sector and facilities. 

1.6 Development Objective: To develop a strong and responsive Nurses training and support staff with enough facilities capable of analysing, influencing and directing action and health policies that will lead to the development of the area, in health, hence a better standard of living.

1.7 Project Budget: US $ 64,950.92 (equivalent to Ug Shs  113,666,410= Exchange rate: 1 US$ = Ug Shs 1,750

1.8 Project Legal Holder: The Board of Directors, St. Peter’s Lwala Nurses Training School.

1.9 Principle Promoter:  Mr. Damian Kitengejja, Chief Director, St. Peter’s Nurses Training School – Lwala.

1.10Project Mission and Rationale: To assist the children of Kaberamaido  mostly the girl-child to have better education facilities in Nurses Training through a private and personalised establishment but with a community-based component.

1.11 Project Beneficiaries: Students interested in the Nursing profession and the rural communities of Otuboi Sub-County, Kaberamaido District, the neighbouring districts, and the health workers in the hospitals around.

1.12 Targeted Population: 118,000 people.

1.13 Project Duration:Two years for construction and procurement of facilities.  Unlimited duration for provision of quality Nurses training skills.
