Our pups are house-reared and are also introduced to the outside world during their toilet training and exploration weeks (which, I must add, are closely monitored). We hope that you enjoy these candid shots of our cutest little bullmastiff babies in their first 9 weeks of life!!

Our babies are housed indoors where they can be a part of the family from their very first day. We also hold onto our pups until they are at least 9 weeks of age so that we can teach them about socialising with other dogs and with 'human' children (etc).
And now to meet the 2003 pups individually...

Ruby and Tsar snuggle together in the thermostatically controlled laundry, while Sweetie ventures outside for a quick toilet break!!

Tank and Tsar eagerly move in on the lamb rib hidden under the trampoline, then Tank, (the loser of the match), dashes off on his own to find some more mischief to get into!!
(Just a quick note: we hide foodstuffs for all of our dogs so as provide them with environmental enrichment, help to relieve boredom, and encourage natural behaviours. We have also found that this type of exercise, (coupled with much 'human' interaction, love and attention), produces very intelligent, inquisitive, calm, and well-rounded bullmastiffs).

Teddy looks so cute and innocent hiding in the grass with his big soulful eyes, but just moments later he is attacking the tripod of our trusty camera!!
(Behaviours like this are gently discouraged at the stud. It might look cute and very funny while these little guys are still babies (hence the very quick 'happy snaps'), but it is a very different story when a 65kg adult decides to have a 'nibble' on something, so it's best for babies to learn at an early age what exactly they ARE allowed to knaw on)!!

Even worse... Soon Bella arrives to help Teddy chew on the tripod, but BJ is too busy stealing some puppy biscuits to chew on anything else!!
(Incidentally, our pups have always been fed a Bones And Raw Food (BARF) and Raw Meaty Bones (RMB) diet which we used to supplement with either premium or super-premium puppy biscuits. Due to health problems relating to this type of diet however, the pups (and all of our adult dogs) are now fed exclusively on the principles of RMB and BARF and do not receive any commercially prepared dog food at all. We have found commercially prepared biscuits to be the most problematic of all dog foods available on the market and certainly steer clear of these now. In the earlier stages of their development, the pups also receive a premium puppy milk formula so as to ease the strain on their lactating Mums. Their Mums are also fed this diet during pregnancy and while they are lactating, but return to a BARF/RMB diet (minus the puppy milk formula) upon weaning of the pups. We have found all of our dogs (both young and old) to be far more healthy on a BARF/RMB diet and have been very impressed by their overall condition, the reduced severity of allergies, and their awesomely clean teeth and healthy gums!! Although we find feeding this diet a little more expensive than the alternative, we have saved much more in unecessary trips to the vet by adopting this feeding regime. If you would like more information on these diets, then a great book to start with is: "Give Your Dog a Bone" by Dr Ian Billinghurst).

Tsar (on the left) watches closely to make sure that Bella (right) doesn't head off to chew on the tripod again, and then, despite looking like a little angel, decides to stop ALL of the puppies from chewing on ANYTHING......
