Organized in 1972 at Annapolis, Maryland, the National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) is a professional organization principally comprised of active duty, reserve, and retired Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard officers committed to improving diversity in the Sea Services. The Hawaii Chapter was officially established in 1977. NNOA actively supports the Sea Services by assisting in recruitment, retention and career development. The strength of the organization lies in the career advancement of its members. NNOA enriches its members by providing them with professional development tools, mentorship and networking opportunities.  NNOA is dedicated to fostering a positive image of the Sea Services in the community and educational institutions.  The National Naval Officers Association is an inclusive organization sanctioned by the Secretaries of the Navy and Coast Guard and is also a member of the Navy and Marine Corps Council.
