My pair of bearded white silkies. They are so sweet and a hoot to have around.

Sable-Merle Collie
It seems like the other day, when Stephie came to our home in California, on May 1, 2003. I had surfed the internet, newspapers, etc, looking for a female collie, 6mths old, who would be a good companion for Max. Ever since watching the tv show Lassie, my dad had always wanted a rough collie, however never had the chance to own one. So when the decision was made to add a second dog to our household, we opted for the collie.
Anyways my persistence in my quest to finding a collie paid off. A local breeder was able to refer me to a breeder in Southern California (it was a 2hr drive), who had exactly what I was looking for. The breeder had actually planned on keeping her, but her dam was due with a litter soon, so she had made the decision to sell her. It was love at first sight when we saw her. She was a gorgeous dog, with an excellent temperament, and exactly what we had in mind. Stephie was very dear to the breeder, so she wanted to make sure that she was going to a home that was well equipped for a collie, so after putting down a deposit with her, she drove back to our house to deliver her.
At first the introduction between Max and stephie was a little shaky, but then they seemed to take to each other. Seeing everything was going smoothly, her breeders decided to leave. As soon as Stephie came into the house, and sensed her previous owners had left, she made a dash to run out of the house. She finally took to the laundry room, and refused to come out from there. It took us nearly a week to coax her out of there.
Come 2008, looking at stephie it is really hard to believe that she ever went through that phase. She rules our house, and has everyone underneath her paws. She is a lot of fun to be around, great with the kitties, and ofcourse the bunnies.

Max is my special boy, whom I got from California. When we got him as a puppy, he was in a terrible condition, having almost all diseases possible. After several treatments he was brought back to health. He is a very shy guy, not too welcoming towards strangers, but is an excellent family dog. The funny thing about this boy was, when we went to get him at the breeders, this boy refused to leave my dad's foot, and we were forced to take him. Max is full of beans when he comes from outside, greeting us, as if we were meeting after decades. He is a real mommy's boy, and follows my mom around the house.
