New Mexico's Soldiers' Angels

The Land Of Enchantment

Making A Difference (July 09)

We had a couple of garage sales in June, they were a big hit.  Thank you to those that donated items and for those that spent the day working the garage sales.

Our numbers are increasing.  When I jumped on the CTL wagon we had about 180ish Angels throughout the state now..... we have over 300. That is awesome, thank you for helping spread the SA word and for all your recruiting efforts.  Due to those efforts we were able to win a Wii system that was sent to our VA hospital in Albuquerque (this was also during June).

We had a great response from the Military Appreciation weekend with the Albuquerque Isotopes.  Several cards were signed and information was sent out.

I had an opportunity to attend a Volunteer weekend with the NM National Guard Family Assistance team.  It was a wonderful weekend and allowed me to spend time with the FA team and some of members from the Family Readiness Groups (FRG's) that are around the state.  If there are any Angels that might be interested in working with the FRG's in your area let me know and I will find the point of contact for you.

Another Angel and myself went to visit a National Guard and Army recruiters offices a couple of weeks ago and offered to purchase lunch for them.  We took baskets of goodies to their offices on our initial visit and then Monday had lunch with the National Guard office, it was a great afternoon.

I received an email with fundraiser suggestions and some look pretty good.  As I sort thru I will send out emails to check interest with NM Angels.

Thank you New Mexico for all your hard work and for everything that you do to Support our Troops.  Please feel free to email me if you have any suggestions of things to do in your area or anywhere.  We have a great momentum going.
