Resident evil 4 review

I know Kammo has already done a review of the game, but with him only renting it, i feel from the review that he has only touched the skin of this amazing game.

You start off being dropped off in what looks like a abandoned village, but you sonn enough find out it isn't deserted. You enter a random house and you show a villager a picture of a girl and ask him if he knows her. He replies in another language then turns around and picks up a fire-poker and attempts to attack you, then you get to blow his head off. The car you were dropped off in then drives away and you hear it crash, so things do look so great for you right now. Basicly things get much worse for you when lots of villagers start heading towards the house. If you are playing on easy mode, you have a handgun and a shotgun to fend them off with, and in normal you find a shotgun in a house in the beginning of the game. DON'T GO FOR IT UNTIL ALL OF THE VILLAGERS GO AWAY AFTER THE BELL GOES AS A BIG CHAINSAW GUY COMES AFTER YOU!

It gets alot harder later in the game as it takes alot more ammo to kill your enemys and you also get less ammo, which means death for you. It also sucks as Ashley (the girls who you have to save) can't shoot and just stands there and gets shot, it's really irritating. It's also crap as all the good guns you unlock after beating the game cost a million pesetas! After compleating the game and selling everything i have i had half a million, so i'll have to play through it a few times.

Overall, this game is very good, and i've played through it twice so far and i haven't got bored of it yet, and i'm on my third go. I give this game a 9.5 as it was too short. It only took me 23 hours and 14 minutes my first time through. I think that resi 5 (you'll probably think the same if you beat assignment ada) should have the villagers from this, but be placed in somewhere like russia and be at least 50 hours long. You should buy it if you crave a good shooter for the cube.

Final verdict 9.5

Kammo being a critic

1) There is alot of nudity in it which you don't usually see in anime's

Guess you've never seen hentai, eh?

...

O.O

Neither have I! Uh..w...hey! Look over there!

Well kammo, you know what i mean, in normal anime's you don't usually see nudity, but of course in hentai you do see alot of nudit
Haha, yeah, I was kidding. XP

Elfen Lied review

I know this is a site about computer games, but screw it, i will throw some anime in!

Elfen Lied episode 1 opens with an arm lying on the ground. The fingers are twitching even though it has been severed, and it is drenched in blood. After this you see two guards shaking with guns in their hands. It then switches to a naked body attached to a metal wall with metal bars curving round this person. The two guards explode and the naked body is freed from the wall. You can now see that it is a girl with a helmet on, you can see pink hair coming out the edges. This girl is called Lucy, but is also called Nyuu by Kouta and Yuka, the people who find her washed up after she gets shot in the side of the head by a sniper, who missed with the shot and the bullet didn't get her brain.

The series is all about Lucy/Nyuu. She has a split personality and Lucy has invisible arms called vectors which are extremely powerful, and can rip a person apart in seconds. Nyuu is a harmless girl who can't speak a word of any language, but starts to pick up some japanese from Kouta and Yuka.

I think this particular anime is very different from any i have ever seen, for two main reasons,

1) There is alot of nudity in it which you don't usually see in anime's
2) I have never seen this much blood and gore in an anime. Usually there is some blood and gore, but not this much

I bought the DVD of this because i saw a flash animation on www.newgrounds.com called Lilium which featured the introdution song from Elfen Lied and the person who made it said that Elfen Lied was amazing. I can now say thank you very much for introducing me to a really great anime and for making me realise just how good anime is.

Final verdict : 10

Kammo's Taiko Drum Master Impressions

I went down to the coast today and visited Circuit City. I played a demo of Taiko Drum Master for the PS2. Yeah, the GCN wasn't hooked up. Of course the XBOX was, and two PS2's were...and they still have the same demo of First Hunt for the DS...but no PSP demo units, at least...anyway...I enjoyed Taiko Drum Master. I even liked it better than Donkey Konga. Keeping in mind I have only played demos. It had more style, it seemed to me, and I like taikos better than bongos, anyway. The little drums were so cute, dancing around. But the gameplay was basically the same as Donkey Konga, as far as I could see. You hit anywhere on the surface of the drum on red beats, and hit the rim on blue. And then of course there are drum rolls. The demo had three songs, one of them being "Love Shack." The cover wasn't very good, but I imagine it is hard to imitate the B52's original style.

I would have been tempted to buy it, but it seemed a bit steep at 60 bucks. But it is a Namco game, and one of the songs was "Katamari on the Rocks." Can't go wrong with that. I can't give a score, since I only played a breif demo, but I really enjoyed it.

Kammo's RE4 Impressions

Hi, this is Kammo with my first "review."

I rented Resident Evil 4 the other day. I am not used to horror games. I have never even played one before this one. So at first, I was rather "freaked out." I had to force myself to keep playing, when I was only a few minutes into the game. So I put down the controller, and turned off the system.

I came back the next day to give it another try, and after a while, I realized it wasn't really scary. Now I am used to the game and it is very enjoyable, not a bit frightening. Also, at first I didn't like the controls. But once I got used to them, I realized they were brilliant. I realized that it's not your typical FPS or shooter, the controls are much different. For example, you cannot walk and shoot at the same time. But once I got the hang of things, I was blowing the heads off of European housewives with a shotgun! Woo! And I loved it.

The game is about Leon, a real "suave" (who even uses that word?) character, some agent working for the President. I think. He is sent on a mission to find the President's missing daughter, Ashley, and becomes tied up in a big deal involving a bunch of creepy chanting guys in a cult. Oooh.

Now I am in some big castle, and a little hazy on the story. Not that the cinematics are boring or unclear. Quite the contrary. I'm just not good at paying attention to things. I was suprised at how seamlessly the game flowed from cinematics to gameplay. Sometimes I didn't even realize I could control Leon, I was just sitting there, thinking it was a cutscene. The game requires you to be on your feet when watching the cutscenes, though. Well, not really, you can sit down. But you have to keep your hands on the controller, because without warning an icon may appear on the screen, telling you to press a certain button. Whether or not you press it in time may determine whether Leon dodges that falling axe or not...

The graphics are probably some of the best seen on the system, and stay even in quality throughout. I was suprised at how realistically the characters moved and reacted. The audio...well, there isn't much, but when there is, it's not bad. It sets the mood, at least. Although sometimes the sound effects were repetitive and monotonous. One time I heard some guy cough the same exact way 6 times in a row. The loading times are fine, too. Fairly short.

Overall, this was an incredibly involving and enlightening game that I definitely reccommend. Nine outa' ten.

Final Verdict: 9.0

Forko's Pac-Pix Stylus

I got this stylus off of the Nintendo Stars catalouge and I can tell you now - I am really glad I got it for three main reasons:

  1. It is alot thicker, so its shape feels better in your hand.
  2. It is alot longer, so you can easily hold it without your hand getting in the way of the action
  3. It doesn't feel like a flimsy piece of plastic.

I will add pictures later as right now I can't find my digital camera.

Forko's Need for Speed U2 DS

Here's my first ever review so don't criticize it too much!

Need for Speed Underground 2 for the DS is very different from the home console version of the game. For one, EA have done away with the explore mode. There are 4 modes on the menu, Circuit mode, Drag mode, Own the Zone mode, and Bonus mode.

Circuit mode is split into three different types: Knock-out mode, Time trial mode, and the basic Race mode. In Knock-out mode there are three laps and the person who is in last in each lap gets knocked out - hence the name. This mode can be very frustrating, because you may be in first and hit a wall or car and get knocked out. In Time trial mode you are on the road on your own and you have to do a certain amount of laps in a certain time limit. I like this mode because there isn't any traffic or enemy racers in your way. The basic Race mode is all you would expect, you go around in circles and you have to get into first and remain there.

Drag mode is more awkward than the console versions as you can't just tap to make your car go from lane to lane, you have to hold down your chosen side and your car will edge it's way awkwardly to that side. It's really just the same as the console versions (not including the steering differences) and it is fun yet frustrating, especially when a car pulls out in front of you from nowhere.

Own the Zone mode is kinda confusing. The level is split up into several pieces, and you have to make all of them your colour. Now here's when the confusion comes in. I can't seem to work out how the guy in second can be ten times slower than me and win that zone... I think it might be from beating the best time in that zone (even though I set an almost unbeatable time).

Bonus mode is the place where you unlock bonus performance upgrades by playing mini-games. I find this mode doesn't fit in too well with the rest of the game and all the games look shocking compared to the lovely car models. I really think that in the next Need for Speed, this mode should be thrown out of the window and shot several times with an uzi.

Overall this game is a really enjoyable racing game and will keep you going for a while. I think it deserves a 8/10. It has good graphics, the racing action is amazing, and with the freeroam mode put in and the bonus mode taken out, this could have had a 9.5/10.

Final Verdict: 8.0
