Objectives
To investigate the premises as mentioned above to see if we could record any paranormal phenomena (through scientific and psychic means) that may occur during our time spent during vigils in different areas of the building.
Equipment Used
EMF meters – It is said when spirits are around in the environment they emanate an electrical charge and these devices can measure the electro magnetic field.
Digital Cameras
Laser Temperature Guns – To detect temperature variations in the atmosphere
Sound Enhancers – Used to amplify the sound of the building
Dowsing Rods- They are said to be moved by spirits when used to find answers during investigations, as are pendulums.

The notes below are taking from the two separate teams from the night and are as detailed as possible.
Team 1’s experiences:

Location: Function Room
Time: 23.30hrs
23.34: The team settle into the vigil area and readings are as follows:
Temperature: 19oc
EMF: 0
Drafts: Back door
The team are all seated around the middle of the restaurant and Karen and Carl utter they are feeling very uneasy whilst near the fireplace within the room. Suzanne then says she is picking up on the energies of a female spirit who is stood near the bar. She describes her as a middle-aged woman and goes by the name of Betty or Betsy.
23.41 hrs:
Suzanne is stood next to the bar and senses a male presence, she then asks Karen to join her and Karen starts to feel dizzy with the energy from the area. Karen then describes she also feel as though this presence is male.
Carl then stands next to the bar and says he feels as though there is a dog with the male who he believes is elderly. Karen then says that when she first entered the area at the start she though she had sensed an animal within the room.
Carl then gets the feeling that this was once used as a private residence and as he walks down towards the fireplace he feels more uneasy and the gramophone which is on a shelf situated at the back of the room is giving him a strong feeling.
23.57hrs:
The team start to feel the temperature drop around them and a reading is taken. The temperature reads 170c from the previous 190c when the team started the vigil. (Note: The heaters are checked and found to be emanating heat and read 33oc)
00.02hrs:
Suzanne calls out in the atmosphere to see if she can provoke any response from the spirit(s) within the room. Suzanne then senses the spirit by the name of Betty or Betsy. Suzanne gets the information that the female spirit was once a chambermaid and her age is 39.
Suzanne feels this spirit is from the 18800’s though cannot pin point an exact date. Though she feels the male presence from earlier is from the early 1900’s.
00.08hrs:
Two consecutive banging noises are heard by us all coming for the fireplace as the team were taking about the female presence.
Suzanne feels as though the gramophone does not belong to the building and has been brought here by someone who once lived here.
00.20hrs:
Suzanne gets the impression that someone of Royal stature has visited here in the past maybe 16-1700’s.

Suzanne attempts some dowsing with a crystal pendulum the results are as follows:

(Suzanne then says she feels as though the spirit is trying to tell us as much information as he can)

Suzanne then thanks the spirit for coming through to give his information to us tonight and asks if he will communicate with us again tonight? Yes
01.38hrs:
Carl then tries some dowsing halfway up the staircase the results are as follows:

Carl thanks the spirit and stops dowsing.
01.44hrs:
Karen attempts some dowsing the results are as follows:

Have you just spoken to Carl? Yes
Have you frightened any of the staff that works here? Yes

Karen thanks the spirit
(Note: The team members were unaware of what has happened to members of staff in the premises. Only Suzanne the team founder who from an earlier visit knew of what has happened paranormal wise within the area. Through the dowsing from Karen it seems that she made contact with a spirit who did indeed scare a member of the female staff whilst in the toilets area.)
01.55hrs:
The team entered the men’s toilets and Karen joined team 2.
There are no fluctuations in the toilets on the EMF meter but both Suzanne and Carl feel a very uneasy feeling. They both feel as though they are being watched and do not feel comfortable in staying in the area for much longer.
End of vigil 02.17hrs
02.36: During the break all of the team hear repetitive clicks coming from the fireplace area in the function room. The team all walk up to the fireplace and Suzanne detects a cold spot. The temperature around the area where it is felt has dropped by 2 degrees and is now registering 17oc on the temperature gun. As to the above 19oc.
Jody then detects that the height maybe 5 feet tall. Suzanne feels that this is a female presence and Jody starts to feel sick. The cold spot that was detected seemed to move around the small area at the back of the restaurant and then found its way over to where we were seated.

The team settle into the vigil area and readings are as follows:
Temperature: 18.5oc
EMF: 0
Drafts: None detected
03.06hrs:
Suzanne photographs on digital still a strange anomaly in restaurant what is usually called an orb (allegedly the first sign of a ghost manifestation) consecutive shots are taken in the same area with only one of the pictures showing a strange ball of light.
03.08hrs:
Suzanne uses the dowsing rods to see if they will give the team a sign that spirit(s) are active within the room. The results are as follows:
Motion for Yes: Cross
Motion for No: Right rod separates from left
Are there any spirits in the room? Yes
Can you point to where you are? Points towards where Karen is seated 2 tables up on the left.
Suzanne feels the spirit is very strong and can be quite mischievous and comes u from the main bar at times. And feels as though the spirit is male and he wanders the restaurants.
03.13hrs:
The team all hear what sounds like footsteps and dragging coming from the area of the stairs. The other group who are in the Function room are asked at this point if they had wandered into the stairs area and they said they have not moved.
03.16hrs:
Suzanne calls out to the spirits to see if she can provoke a response.
The team all hear what seems to sound like a party in the distance and hear clinking of glasses. The footsteps begin again from the stairs area.
Carl then starts to see a black pulsating shadow near the small stairs that lead down to the main bar. The footsteps are still heard coming from the stairs area and are starting to be more louder and heavier.
03.29hrs:
Suzanne then asks for the spirit on the stairs to open the door and we all hear someone say ‘No’. The team at this point feel a little shocked that they heard the voice.
Karen then starts to hear a moaning in her left ear and starts to become a little frightened.
03.31hrs:
The team then hear someone heavy breathing within the room and knocking emanating from the door onto the stairs.
Karen starts to feel sick and Carl starts to feel depressed.
The team agree that something is starting to come up the stairs and they all feel very uncomfortable as they hear a males voice telling them to ‘get out’.
Straight after this we all hear what sounds like a muffled sigh come from the other side of the door to the stairs.
Karen then hears someone say ‘No your not’ when she told the team she was shaking.
The door to the restaurant is trying to open.
We then all start to hear what sounds like horses hooves in the courtyard below but upon looking out of the window they stop.
03.46hrs:
The team then hear what sounds like money being rattled in a pocket. Upon asking the other team who at this point were still in the Function room if they had head anything or rattled anything they exclaimed they had not.

Location: Stairs & Toilets

Dowsing rods are used to try and communicate with spirit and they point towards the men’s toilets.
00.05hrs:
The dowsing rods pick up on a male presence. They indicate through questions that it is a young male of 3 years old. He like to play and feels happy. The spirit boy did not want the team to leave. When not asking any questions the rods moved without being asked any questions so the conclusion was the young boy liked to play with the rods when Jody had a hold of them.
Jody sees a faint mist surrounding the right hand rod when the little boy appeared to be playing with them.
00.45hrs:
Darryl, Jody and Karen who has joined the group set up a trigger object at the bottom of the stairs comprising of 2 coins placed in a flour tray to see if they could try and make any spirits within the premises move them.

Jody starts to feel cold

Darryl tries some dowsing with the rods.
Can you make yourselves known? The rods point to the table 22 where the light anomaly was captured on digital camera.

The rods conclude through questioning that the boys name is Bobby
01.55hrs:
Karen joins the group
The team ask if Bobby can do anything to let them know that he is in the atmosphere. Karen then hears someone say ‘Hello’ in her right ear.
Jody picks up that Bobby’s parents are not with him and she feels his name begins with a D.
02.05hrs:
Jody asks Bobby if his last name is Drake. The rods answer Yes.
The crystals pendulum was also used during the time but no results were noted.
02.15hrs:
The team call out again into the room to see if they can provoke any activity. Karen and Jody both hear a faint whistle coming from the bar at the top of the restaurant.
End of vigil 02.17hrs
02.25hrs:
Trigger object is moved to the Function room.
Location: Function Room
Time: 03.10hrs
During the break Jody has picked up on the little boy Bobby near the fireplace.
03.10hrs
Jody starts to say she has a pain in her stomach a heavy dull ache and at times becoming very sharp in her elbow.
Suzanne comes in to ask if they have heard any noise coming from the stairs. They say they have not heard anything. Could this be linked in with maybe someone passing within the building whilst they were talking about pains?
03.15hrs:
After the team has started talking about how Bobby could of died, Jody starts to feel sick and also pains in her stomach again. Jody says that this could be a sign of Bobby being poisoned.
The team use the rods to ask if Bobby if he had been poisoned and the rod indicated that he had but it was accidental.
Jody also feels a female presence in the room and she is the guardian of Bobby but not his mother and she confirms to Jody that Bobby’s death was accidental.
03.30hrs:
Darryl uses sound enhancers to see if he can hear anything unusual in the room but nothing is heard.
End of vigil 03.55hrs:
The team decided on the break that the Top restaurant had yielded more activity throughout the night and that it would be a good idea for us all to congregate in there to see if anymore phenomena would occur or if any of the psychics in the group could come up with a direct link with any of the spirits who had stepped forward on the night.
04.02hrs:
The knockings that team 1 had heard earlier commence again.
Jody says that she can hear a man murmuring but cannot pin point where they are coming from.
Jody then says she can hear what sounds like a Jack in the box winding up and also a party (like what team 1 had heard earlier) going on somewhere within the premises
04.12hrs:
Darryl calls out into the atmosphere. The knockings commence again as Darryl is talking and start to become louder all of the team hear this and Suzanne investigates the staircase and nothing is heard.
Jody then hears a cough coming from the stairs (Note: Suzanne was back in the room at this point) Jody suggests at this point that sound maybe travelling up from the old service shaft in the restaurant.
Jody then feels a pressure on her head and the only way she can describe it is that she feels like she is wearing a hat at the same time Darryl’s arm goes all numb and he has to leave the room as it feel uncomfortable.
The hours that lead up to the end of the investigation where very quite and things seemed to calm down.
Conclusion
The team felt as though they had an interesting investigation on the night and would gladly come back to investigate.
The team feel as though there is paranormal activity without an explanation within the premises.
Audible phenomena is indeed very strong in certain rooms of the building and we have come to the conclusion that there are active spirits within the premises.
The scientific evidence indicated that there are undeniably temperature drops within the function room and that the top restaurant yielded a lot of activity on the night.
Research is still continuing to find out if the spirit boy who made himself known on the night little Bobby Drake did live there and also more research is carried out to find the chambermaid who goes by the name of Betty or Betsy.
