The first modern horror movie I ever saw was Phantasm on television as a kid. I loved it and today it still reigns as one of my favorite movies of all time. Since then there have been three sequels of varying quality, but none as powerful as the first. I was always really taken with the lead character of Mike, how clever he was, and how depressing and somber the movie tone was. I was disappointed with the later sequels where they pretty much dropped his characterization and his cleverness and stopped making him the main character and more the victim.

I have wanted figures from Phantasm for as long as I can remember. This year I finally did something about it and commissioned sculptress Chan Ada in a group commission with various other Phans on the 1:6 boards to sculpt a Tall Man. The head is on a Sideshow "Twilight Zone" 14" Kanamit body so he towers above my other figures, and his suit was sewn for me by my friend Vikki of "The Fabric of Time and Space" in trade, with the arms and legs taken in to be made skinnier just like they did for the actor Angus Scrimm on the set to make him look taller.

A pair of 1:6 Jawas make a more than suitable stand-in as pair of the Tall Man's killer dwarfs. I plan on making more of the characters from Phantasm soon, with a 13 year-old Michael next, then probably Jody.
