Post-top entry Thorn Gamma 6 lantern, in the leafy suburb of Brickwell Court.

PHILIPS XGS mounted on 90 degree bracket, on 12 metre Stanton and Stavely concrete column.

South Paddock Court presents a GEC Z5670 Lantern (now very yellow) with some kind of extension or adapter at the base of the lamp which contains a photocell.

At Lingswood Park, we have a double-armed STANTON bracket with 12 mt concrete column in perfect combination with ELECO GR 100's

But on closer inspection, mould and water ingress has proceeded in the left lantern. This is a major fault with the ELECO when the lantern is displayed at this angle, allowing the elements to cause problems as the lantern ages.

Question - Is this an active globe street lamp...or isn't it?
Answer - No.
This traffic island is built at a slip junction on a main road, to prevent vehicles from overtaking on the broken lines at junctions.
Where there is no electricity supply, and to save the expense of a line being trenched from approximately 5 miles away, a fake streetlamp was created. By using exactly the same reflective materials as a standard street sign, sheet metal is sized to scale to the shape of a globe lantern, with the white urban reflective material stuck over the metal. As cars at night drive past this illusion shining their headlights, this makes it look like an active lantern, as the camera flash demonstrates.
The same is also applied to the bollard keep left signs.
