Niagara Premier Dart League

See you around the oche.......

If you haven't figured it out already, Mick & I won't be running a 3rd season of the NPDL this year. After 2 very successful and profitable (for the players) seasons we have decided we no longer wish to run "OUR" dart league. We started this league "for the players" to give them another reason to play instead of the typical "plaque " leagues. Anyone who has played in the NPDL knows the payouts were far more substantial than any league they had played in the Niagara region.. Over $15,000.00 in 2 seasons. Not Bad Eh!

6 years ago Mick & I decided to accept positions on the NFCDL (since been re-named the Men's league) because we wanted to make it better. We did just that with hard work, dedication and a passion we went from 10 teams to 12 teams to 15 teams when we left. As we continued to become accustomed to administrating, we learned how to run successful, time managed tournaments. Remember the last "Don Hurst" singles events 42 men 32 "broads" simultaneously and a "stolen/recovered" shirt followed by the doubles on time before the mixed tourny began. Not bad for 2 guys.

We continually came up with new ideas of wanting to run "the best dart league we could". We gave it our all and many darters were compensated by our efforts and we really enjoyed doing it. Now 6 years and a couple hundred beers later  we have come to the realization that we would rather play and enjoy darts once again as players and not have to worry about running a league and all the responsibilities and dedicated time that is needed to make it successful.

Since the NPDL began in 2006 "all sorts of leagues" have emerged. With all the talented league operators popping up in the Niagara region, the need for our league became reduntant. We are the first money league in this area.We became tired of trying to convince people that winning  lots of $$$$$ can be fun. The NPDL did not fall apart. We simply shut it down after 2 seasons.. We aren't asking for help to keep it going. We asked for help when we started and didn't get any. Paul came aboard this year and was a great complement to us. Thanks for all the help and support Paul.

Perhaps we will help others in  their dart ventures it if is enticing for us to add our experience and knowledge, but not to the degree we have been accustomed to the last 6 years. We would like to thank each and everyone who has played in the NPDL for the past 2 seasons, for without you there wouldn't have been a league. For those of you who didn't take the opportunity to play, you'll never know what you missed. We'd like to wish all of you the best in your dart endeavors whichever direction you take. Love it or hate it, we're all still playing.
