WHAT'S NEW IN 2009!

Kia Ora to all the Whanau! Things to diary for Te Korowai Aroha Whanau Services over the next few months:

Ramere (Friday), 20th Hui-tangaru (February) 2009 - STAFF STRATEGIC PLANNING DAY

NB:  Every Monday, kaimahi (staff) are involved in a staff meeting and the door may be closed from 9 am onwards.

Every Wednesday from 1 pm to 3 pm kaimahi are involved in a group programme and the door maybe closed.

We shall endeavour to keep people posted to the comings and goings of the Whanau here at Te Korowai Aroha Whanau Services!

From the events diary:

On Friday, 25th of July 08, staff and supporters celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Maori by running a quiz that covered aspects of Maori history, sports, events and many other fascinating tidbits that related to Maori life. We concluded with a 'Mean Maori Mean' kai of boil up, fried bread, raw fish, rewana and other Maori delicacies! It was agreed by everyone in attendance that it was a great event, and one we will need to do regularly. A big mihi to the newest addition to the Te Korowai Aroha Whanau, Newton, for his hard work in putting together the quiz questions and the rest of the whanau for the awesome kai and quiz participation. Ka mau te wehi!

On the 4th and 5th of Dec 08, staff and whanau were priviledged enough to have their Te Korowai Aroha Whanau Services 'practice model' training on Kapiti Island! We started out at Rangatira Point where some of the whanau trekked up to the highest point on the island. We also had lunch with the cheeky wekas!
