omg. as if my head awasn't urthing noughe. =P
and for the record, eugene's a geek.
can you believe it? part 3 of the yeti sports series is here.
this time you've got to try flinging a seal hammer-throw-esque style up the sides of an icey gorge. i gave up at 929.28.
ugh. my brain is going to explode from problem solving and debugging my code.
luckily, there are neat little mindless games like this one to ease the brainfry. i keep imagining (why does that look misspelled?) the little popping balloons as braincells in my head.
pop! oops, there goes another one. =/
it's hump day, so why not be totally unproductive? here's yet another strange little game in which you've got to use your balancing skills to build the tallest tree-like structure that you can.
my best was 21.8 feet. =/
is it just me or is this game pretty difficult? i think i've been staring at code too long.
it's time for another seemingly simple game that'll drive you mad. or at least drive me mad.
i think i've been staring at code too long today, because i can't seem to see where the walls are in this game; i keep hitting them and exploding.
wow. this is one sweet arcade shooter. (java)
i did a search here just now to see if i had ever posted pacman here, and i hadn't, so i'm rectifying that right now.
i've posted another game like this before, and the fact that i can't remember what the heck it was is either due to the time of night or...or [insert your suspected reason here].
anyway, make the sum of the numbers you click on equal to the big number in the top right corner. enjoy. (thks m)
the little penguin that could appeared in january this year and quickly became one of the most blogged, emailed and played game on the net, i'm sure.
read about its author(s), its history and play the different mods, you will.
instead of wacking penguins all the way to timbuktu, try hurling trucks as far as you can in this frustrating game.
i managed a pitiful 221.88. =/
we've seen some of these before, but they're still cool, even after all this time. =)
another completely nonsensical quiz that you'll do anyway just because you're curious, or more likely, bored.
"upper tax bracket, nice house in the 'burbs, country club membership, private schools, two-car garage--enjoy!" (thanks s)
here's another movie game for you guys to munch on...this one's based on font recognition from the movie's marketing.
the early versions of this now infamous invisibles quiz drove me up the wall, and now, fortunately for all of us, they've made more; the latest was just posted monday.
click on the cows to milk 'em and fill your stash.
i managed to do it in 14.46 seconds, but my head's spinning now. =/
remember sonic the hedgehog?
here's a pretty cool flash game based on him. =)
i'll have to admit that i didn't spend too much time on "the fast & the furriest" that features a fox or something dragging around a rodent, but it looks good, so i thought i'd post it.
is my brain really that fried? i found this pyramid quiz pretty difficult.
wait. don't answer that. =P
maybe it's just the time and i'm hella tired, but i found the swinging characters in this game to be more hypnotic than anything else. =P
i know this is just a clone of the famous space invaders, but what the hey, it's fun to play old cloned classics every now and then. =)
call me sadistic, but i found this latest version of the now classic smack the pingu game somewhat amusing.
be warned, it's a little gory. with the help of a few well placed explosions, i managed a 942.7. =)
i haven't a clue as to how the game of cricket is played, and after playing this flash version briefly, i'm happy to say that i still don't.
haha...kinda sadistic, but hey, it's still hella fun.
i could only manage a score of 400. maybe coz i thought it was more fun seeing them go splat =P (i know who's gonna love this one)
i can't believe i've never posted this classic game that tests your memory. =/
greeeaaat.
just the freakin' thing i need to relieve some stress. i'm stuck in this *@@*# room and i can't get out!
dammit.
i'm going to be lazy due to a ton of other computer tasks i've currently got queued by posting the link to this entire site that's got a wackload of games. you'll have to sift through 'em yourselves. =)
all you have to do in this game is get all the blocks down. pushing a block down will cause adjoining blocks to rise, and vice versa. enjoy the frustration! heh.
surely one of the most played games on the net recently have been the two variations (same game, different scoring) of smack the pingu, where you (as a yeti) smack a penguin as far as you can.
i wasn't quite finished trying to beat some crazy score a friend posted when i came across part 2, although i haven't had time to play it yet. cool.
i know there's going to be at least one of you hooked on this word game. enjoy. =P
here's a pretty cool skateboarding game which you'll need shockwave for.
just the other day a friend of mine went looking for his marbles...and although that really has nothing to do with this game, other than that which he lost, i thought i'd mention it anyway. what the hey.
anyhoo, you're gonna need a hella lot of hand-eye coordination in order to find your marbles in this game. =)
this game's almost like the old arcade classic punch-out.
after 3 rounds and 64550 points, i gave up because my fingers started cramping. =P
i know there are more than a few of you who'll enjoy this one player online version of scrabble.
if adventure is to your liking, you'll enjoy this neatly designed little flash game.
you'll need a lot of hand-eye coordination for this simple little game where you just have to avoid hitting the blue blocks.
i lasted 20.73 seconds. =P
it's the old favourite, master mind, with a really cool interface.
there's just too many decent games at this site to only link to a few, so i'll just link the whole site so you guys can peruse them at your leisure.
it is friday, after all. =P
nux lee is your unlikely hero in this flash fighter. help him battle his way through the evil minions that would seek to destroy the world.
or something like that, anyway. =P
i should really turn comments off for this post, but i'll risk it and post with them open.
have a go and see if you've the skills to compete in this dance competition, or build you own dance; the dance primarily being breakin'.
note: if you have no idea why i wrote what i did about comments, don't ask. heh.
it's like baseball but with a penguin. heh. i smacked him 574.9 [insert penguin baseball units here] away. =P
i could only manage 307.4 in this ski jump game.
for some reason i kept falling on my butt after landing. heh. i'd say that it's pretty true to life. =P
an interesting concept lies behind this game in which you and a stranger—who you can't communicate with—have to agree upon words that each of you type in based on a picture that both of you can see.
it requires creating a user name, but was worth at least one play, for me anyway. =)
feeling a little stressed out?
iam.
prevent these race cars from finishing their races by taking a crane with a hella big wrecking ball and bashing them with it.
i have a whole new appreciation for traffic control after playing this difficult little game. =)
there's not too much to this game, but the concept's just so wack that i had to post it.
this game's another rip of a popular game that most people who've ever played touch screen are familiar with, and yes, it's just as addictive as the original.
it's another rip of the carnie favourite, whack-a-mole, except the moles in this one are the american idol judges...heh.
i got a 96. too bad i can't do that irl.
we've seen this type of game before, where you guide a ball along a track, collecting things while at the same time making sure your ball doesn't fall off.
this time though, it's disco themed, and the track you've got to ensure you stay on is the dance floor. =)
how many of you weren't thinking of cards when you read the title of this post? heh.
anyway, i can't believe it, but someone's actually ported the age ol' card game of speed to the net, and it's actually pretty cool. =)
what will they think of next?
race to get your team clean in this nivea sponsored online game.
at first, this game may not look like much, but you'll quickly discover that it's a nicely packaged little strategy game that'll have you hooked in no time.
i'm not a big fan of reposting, but in this case it's necessary, as arcane, wb's online adventure game has had 7 episodes added since i first posted it almost 1 year ago.
my, how time flies.
omg am i actually posting a mindless time waster?
yes, indeed i am, and woudln't you know it, it's our old favourite, snake, revamped.
one of the most frustrating games for me at any fair, be it the cne or canada's wonderland, is that wretched whack-a-mole.
every time i play, i'm positive that i hit every freakin' mole squarely on the head, but does little bell ever ring? noooooo...dammit. i was at least able to keep myself occupied for a while at this online version, and maybe i'll even fare a liitle better at next year's er...fair. heh. =P
hey hey...it's another game, based on pac-man. i think i'm on a roll...holy cow.
oh well, at least it'll keep you guys occupied. some of you, that is. it's best if you control mr. koffieman with a gentle touch, that is, don't hold the arrow buttons down. =)
hey look, it's space invaders reinvented for the holiday season!
alright, so it's really close to christmas and you probably don't have much to do, so i guess i should be posting something so that you can pass the time away, mindlessly.
the blip's got a nice little collection of games for you to check out.
this is probably the best online snowboarding game i've seen to date, and strangely enough, it coincides with our now annual getaway to mont-tremblant.
i think this post will do for today, because miniclip's got a honkin' collection of games that you're sure to waste your entire friday—and more—playing.
hopefully i won't crash as much up there as i did in this game. have an awesome weekend everyone...see ya'll when we get back!
you're going to need a lot of divine intervention all right, if you want to get anywhere in this side-scrolling shooter.
at least i did; i had my head ripped off the first three times by a skater.
haha...a nicely made game where you're a 'fly girl' and have to jump on people's heads to get their drinks.
this xmas version of the popular blast billiards is definitely, well...a blast.
make sure to check out the rest of the games at mouse breaker as well.
the holiday season brings out all kinds of fun activities, and catapulting santa down the ice is certainly, for me (see dear santa post) one hella enjoyable activity.
i tried this a few times, and came up with a personal best of 350.4. (click mouse to start, again to pull back, and again to release catapult.)
try out your skills (at least in the virtual sense) at snowboarding and on a bmx in these games that are supposedly for kids, but which i found pretty difficult.
maybe i just need some sleep. |-/
it's fred on a bobsled. and fred had me sledding for a whole 5 minutes.
alternatively, have a snowball fight with the flinstones. there's actually a bunch of games on this site. check 'em out. (i know some of you are really b-o-r-e-d)
an old favourite of mine when i was younger, connect 4 is like a complicated tic-tac-toe. it'll trip you up if you're not paying attention.
this looks like a complete ripoff of bomberman, but who cares? it's still worth a visit. =)
i've been thrown many a curveball over the years, and so i've gotten somewhat accustomed to it, until they added curves to the already difficult 3d pong, that is.
i dunno. maybe it's too late in the night (or early in the morning) for me to be playing this, or it could be that i've just had a little too much...heh.
i just kept falling off into the abyss...=/
here's a nice collection of little games, some are new and some are old.
it's too bad you can't play all of them for free, though. =) (thks mich)
i think there's a trend forming as of late in the quality of games that i've been finding online.
here's another cool puzzle game that's not only different in design, but also aesthetically pleasing.
if you're into racing games, be sure to check this motorcycle racer. it's pretty well done, imho.
one of my favourite sci-fi shows when i was growing up was battlestar galactica.
because i'm posting this you must have already guessed that it's coming back...if you did, you're right.
not only that, but it's coming back with a flash game to boot. =)
another surprise from the world of online gaming is this novel part simon-part typical puzzle game from shockwave that requires you to clear blobs from the board according to audio and visual cues.
it's also a cool download, for those of you who are at home. (audio, shockwave)
how about a brainless shooter to help you get through your tuesday?
here's a nice flash animation that's been around for a while that my peers (and everyone else) should definitely take a look at. it's based on the buggle's 'video killed the radio star'.
amusing, nostalgic and simply brilliant. =)
this quiz is supposedly trying to gauge american intelligence (arguably an oxymoron) by asking people whether they're american and then firing off 20 questions from a number of different areas of knowledge.
while the results are obviously easy enough to skew, and probably far from accurate, it's still a quaint little time waster. i scored 16, in case you're wondering.
the unoriginal title of this game is actually a little deceiving, in which you race around on a snowmobile trying to blow up your opponent, while of course also trying to finish first.
it's sponsored by chips ahoy, so you're cookie-ing your opponent to death, but hey, what else have you got to do today anyway?
one of my favourite two-player no-brainer games dates back to the old days of ms dos and basic.
it was called nibbles, the game in which your snake grows longer and longer as you eat or collect things. the part of the game that was most fun was when you tried to get your opponent to crash into your snake, resulting in their demise.
this version allows you to sail right through each other, but it's still good for a little mindless fun.
whoa. check it out...one of the all time classic 80's games, qix, has been ported to flash. =)
an interesting concept turns out to be a pretty difficult game and requires some serious coordination.
one of my favourite activities in elementary school was dodgeball.
at the risk of sounding conceited, i was quite good because i had reflexes like a cat and the arm of a major league pitcher. heh. ok, maybe that's a tad exaggerated, but reliving those games through this online version was pretty cool. (shockwave req'd)
do you possess a lot of useless knowledge? find out with this game.
ok, so it looks like i was surprised twice in one day; firelfy's a pretty cool 3d shooter.
here's yet another addictive little puzzle game to help wile away your afternoon. =)
i'm surprised to see that i can still be surprised by a well designed online game like this one.
get four in a row!(shockwave req'd)
i bet you all think you're crazy wicked typists don't ya?
well, try out this game and prove it!
somehow, i kept failing this silly online driving test.
i guess you shouldn't drink and drive online. heh. =P
i know it's american thanksgiving, but why not play a christmas game, just to get you in the mood?
it looks like santa's been drinking too much. or maybe that's just me?
this site definitely houses some of the better looking casino games on the net, with anything from blackjack to baccarat
oh look, they've even got slots. =)
if you've ever played battle chess, than this game is totally your thing.
make suure you've got some time, som braincells, and your wits about you...if you want to play, hit me up and i'll be sure to try and give you some kind of challenge. =)
if you've got a lot of time on your hands and love strategy games, try this game out. definitely not a game you can play on your break.
although this game's got a weird name, it's one of the better 2d arcade shooters i've seen in a while. reminds me of raiden, actually.
here's a game that requires some thinking. perfect to for mindless monday jumpstarts.
there's nothing like those old pixelated games we played on the atari, intellivision and even on the nintendo.
nothing, that is except for new, pixelated games that have been remade and ported to the net. =P
i know, it's friday, and all our brains are dead (wait, isn't it monday when that happens?) but i thought you might get through your friday a little faster with this little puzzler that involves eating a whole bunch of cheese just so. (java req'd)
here's a really well made space shooter that is reminiscent of asteroids.
holy cow, it's hump day already...geez.
just so that you can't complain that i don't post enough games, this site's got a crapload that'll keep ya busy for a month.
does that mean i don't have to post anymore? heh.
i actually quite enjoyed this game, an obvious lemmings clone.
make sure that you not only read the instructions, but that you have them handy as well.
apparently, i'm the best skater in town but my arch rival has stolen my team's boards. it's up to me, of course to get them all back, but before i can, i'll have to battle through the evil minions of my nemesis.
it's park life. check it. (shockwave req'd)
play some mindless 3d ping pong, great for a monday—and for me an especially rough one.
here's a pretty nifty (does anyone use this word anymore?) brainless shooter in case you've had the kind of weekend i've had. =)
this one's just a simple hangman game that will test your knowledge of the 70's and 80's.
if you stick with this game long enough, it'll drive you mad.
no joke.
this one's probably one of the better remakes of the classic bust-a-move arcade game.
after some intense java that left my brain all warm and toasty yesterday, mindless blow 'em up activities like this are sooo much fun.
i'm sure i'm pretty well the minority when i say that i can't wait for the snow to fall so that i can get out there boarding and more importantly, have some snowball fights!
have a go at this 'battle of the sexes' tennis game.
it's proven to me that equality is a genuine school of thought; i sucked equally as bad playing either sex. =P
this might be verging on bad taste, but oh, what the heck, it's a time waster.
and just like that it's monday morning again huh?
what better way to start the week than roast our brains a bit with some logic puzzles. =P
my eyes are still bouncing up and down from playing this game, so i thought i'd share the good vibes it gave me (heh) with all of you.
use your arrow keys to move around, and make sure you've got some eye drops and gravol handy. =)
that's right, even your fave game show's been ported to the web.
this looks like a pretty cool rendition of minesweeper, if that's what indeed it is...i haven't figured out how to play it yet.
for some reason i keep exploding. =P
it's friday!
that means it's time for some crazy gaming action...first up there's foosball...enjoy!
i've been gawking at my monitor for longer than i should have been because of this wretched minipops quiz i got yesterday.
this makes it a perfect friday post.
oh, and if you haven't wasted enough time with that, there's a part 2.
dammit, i'm seeing little colourful pixelated people everywhere. thanks arwen...i hate you. (jj).
(tip-it's an excel spreadsheet, so if you've got excel installed and a window pops up asking if you want to save or open, choose the latter and it'll open in your browser, unless you want to save it and work on it later. if you don't have excel installed, download the viewer here.)
as long as i can remember—from my days at the science centre as a kid—i've always had a thing for moon lander simulation games.
i'm not addicted by any means of the imagination, but every time i come across one, even though they're all nearly identical, i have to play for at least 5 minutes. weird. =/
ack! this game's retarded, but it had me stuck long enough to play a complete game. i bowled a 74. heh.
i think i should stick to real bowling.
the graphics really suck in this game, but the game itself is surprisingly pretty catchy.
or at least that's what i thought, because it had me banging incessantly on my keyboard without a care in the world until i lost.
if you're at work, make sure to turn down the volume if you're going to play this game that's been designed in the spirit of name that tune.
good for about 5 minutes of slack time.
it's amazing how much this german game resembles mario kart.
after playing it for a while, it even makes my eyes all wack, just like its cousin. %-).
even though i don't know the game all that well, i have a lot of respect for rugby players, and imho think that in some ways it's tougher than football.
here's a decent online version that you can play even if you haven't the faintest idea what the rules of the game are.
i think i've officially hung up my golf clubs for the season.
i didn't get a chance to play all that much (wonder why? heh), but with quality golf games like this online, it's almost ok. almost.
it's friday!
i just got home from tunnel and i'm a little happier than normal, bit, but(whatever) that doesn't preclude (whoa, i'm still in touch with my vocab) me from posting this game here.
what an unusually large crowd we drew tonight huh? too bad arwen couldn't make it. =P
here's a game that's sure to challenge your brain, especially on a friday!
tgif
as i mentioned before, i don't gamble, so i really have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to keno.
hey look, it's the classic logic puzzler, mastermind, finally ported to flash.
you asked for it.
games games, and more games. actually, it's a win-win situation, coz i don't have much time to post much more than that right now anyway, although posting these games requires that i at least try them first. heh.
try this game out. i couldn't get a single touchdown. =P
now here's a cool idea.
take tetris, make the lines disappear both horizontally and vertically and lose the gravity.
i know there's at least one of you who will be hooked.
there's not too many non-puzzle type games online that will keep me occupied for very long before i move onto the next one, but this one had me stuck for a while.
i don't know what's worse; the fact that i sat here playing this mindless game for about 10 minutes, or the fact that someone sat there playing until they got 183 (high score) paper balls in the basket. =/
ack! it's another insanely addictive puzzle game in which you have to push blocks around to match the given patterns.
dammit.
i keep mentioning the game push push that i have on my cell phone here on my blog, but i haven't ever posted it huh?
after spending some time getting hooked on it and losing complete track of time, you'll probably wish i hadn't. =P
i've had this game in my favourites for a long time, and never posted it here because i hadn't had time to play it yet or try it out.
i still don't have the time to play it, nor do i have any clue what the object of the game is. as far as i can see you're cast as some guy on fire in an rpg-type game who runs around collecting things.
it looks good. who knows, it might even be really good. i'll leave that to you guys to find out. (shockwave req'd)
if you need to blow off some steam, try this shooter. you can even select between first and third person modes, which is good because i get nauseous after about 15 minutes in first person mode.
this is a prime example of how incredibly simple games can keep the incredibly simple occupied for an incredible amount of time.
sounds like a perfectly mindless game for a monday huh? it is! my high score after 2 tries was 2131.
it's a little early to get hyped up for the snowboarding season as i'm not quite sure i'm ready for really cold weather yet, but hey, this game's cool, and it is monday after all.
ugh...that pun was totally not intended.
check out this little flash adventure game loosely based on the indiana jones series of flicks; that is if you've got some time to spare.
this online adventure game isn't too shabby, and kept me busy long enough to wish i hadn't started surfing. =)
woohoo!
here's another addictive puzzle game designed to waste your entire day. =) (shockwave req'd)
need to relieve some stress? why not blow up some aliens in this space shooter.
i had always heard about railroad tycoon for the pc, but never actually played it.
there's now a minigame version available online for those of us who might want a taste.
here's another one of those games that are pretty simple in concept and design, but will probably keep you entertained for a little while.
as if the 2d version wasn't maddening enough, here's the 3d version of crates that'll just surely eat up whatever little productive time you had left today.
you're welcome! =P
have you checked out the world of lego lately?
if you've shopped for kids lately, you've got to have noticed that the lego franchise is hella huge. we're talking like ginormous compared to what they were when i was young.
and have you seen their website? it rocks...with a large selection of quality games like bionicle's mata nui adventure game or the one i'm currently hooked on...beltz. (getting to this link is a little convoluted, but trust me, it's worth it)
expand this entry for instructions on entering the site!
to access beltz, and some other cool things in their club area, you have to sign up for a free username. don't worry, it's painless; they 't even ask you for your email address.
of course, in case you're too lazy, here's one you can use:
username: lemmeplay
password: lemmein
to get to beltz:
1. login
2. click on 'games' on the left panel
3. click on 'beltz' on the right panel.
click and enjoy!
look, your favourite morning cereal mascot even designs games for the web.
check out frosties street dive. it's greeeeeaaaaat! =P
and can anyone answer why, of all people the british would have the product's name, frosted flakes shortened to frosties?
i got this amusing vid via email yesterday and because i'm so generous & altruistic (ahem) i thought i'd post it here to help you pass your friday away.
besides, i'm way too lazy to email it—that's what this blog's for. =P (thanks arwen)
it was 2 am and i was finishing up a linux install on another machine, studying for an exam and munching on some milk and cookies when i decided that the little linux penguins in my books had broken into song and dance a little too often for my liking and took off for a smoke break.
i came back, sat down and after the still bouncing penguins confirmed that my break had done little to help my sanity, i hopped onto this computer in an effort to seek asylum from the crazy overstuffed penguins, and of course, to get my fix—just a little one.
that was one hour and fifteen minutes ago.
it's now 3:15 am and i'm cursing the penguins, the internet and most of all, i'm cursing the fact that i just rediscovered the prince of persia game that's now been ported to flash!
i never could play the original, and this one is just as (or would be without the space bar cheat) hard as the first one in 1989.
if you've got something important to do, don't play it!
heh. i know you will, but at least i warned you. =P
keeping up with the current game theme, i figured i might as well post another one...this one's very similar to the addictive puzzle game on my phone, push push, except it's called crates, and the levels appear to be different.
enjoy!
here's another puzzle game where the object is to get rid of the blocks by matching their colours.
yeah, i know it sounds unoriginal, but it's actually a little different. too bad only the first ten levels are online and free. (flash)
happy hump day!
if you've got a whole lot of nothing to do today, try this samurai game. careful as some parts might be nsfw, and make sure you've got lots of time, coz it's pretty involved for a flash game.
here's a tribute to 80's video games that's pretty well done, with your host donkey kong and background music courtesy of van halen--in the david lee roth days of course.
this one's a little late, as it's something i played around the time the movie came out, but maybe it'll keep ya entertained for a little while.
it's charlie's angels: angel x.
bobsledding is one crazy sport. flying down an ice track at anywhere from 100-190 km/h is anything but sane, and the athletes that do have got to be serious adrenalin junkies.
for those of us who like our bodies intact, they've made an online version, minus the cold, the danger and of course the adrenalin.
a couple of summers ago i was sitting in a park one afternoon and saw a couple of people taking turns throwing frisbee-like objects around.
at first i didn't think too much of it, as such activities are common in a park, until i realized that they weren't tossing the discs at each other.
they were using the discs like balls, throwing them towards what looked like metal baskets on poles. after getting them into those baskets, they proceeded further on down the park, all the while following the discs they threw.
i had always wondered what in the world they were doing. i assumed it to be some type of activity until i heard that it was actually a new sport called disc golf.
it's a funny looking sport, a hybrid of frisbee and golf, one that i didn't think i'd ever try until now. you (and i) can try it online, because just like almost everything else, it's been ported to the net. cool.
ya-huh, the weekend's over everyone.
let's welcome y'all back with an unusual little game where the objective is to ensure all your guests are happy at a dinner party.
don't know about you guys, but i'm constantly getting hooked on puzzle games.
hah. here's another one. don't blame me. =)
hey, it's friday!
why not blow a hole in something 7 different ways?
i haven't made any music in a while, simply because there's just been too much on my plate, and the plate in my near future isn't looking much better either.
in the meantime though, i can use toys like this one as a convenient and less time consuming substitute if i ever feel the need to throw something together.
you can use it to annoy the heck out of everyone around you. =)
hey hey you made it through hump day!
but can you do 3 things at once?
here's a cool flash toy that uses sound and colour and can get pretty trippy, depending on your state of mind.
my favourite is the third one. %-)
i suppose that i should post some kind of time waster today since it is friday, after all.
why not play some foosball? (shockwave req'd)
sure to keep you occupied through your entire hump day and distract you enough so you don't notice the little break in the middle of my picture postathon, 5 differences is a very cool knock off of the touch screen favourite, photo hunt.
ok, ok. i slowed down a little because i got stuck playing it. =)
further to my comments on the latest post about xiao xiao, i'm posting xiao xiao # 9, an awesome game based on one of the eighties classics, kung fu master.
also check out way of the exploding stick, a game made by a xiaoxiao fan. =)
one of the cooler racing games i've seen so far, this one's sure to keep you occupied 'til the next time your boss comes walkin' by.
this game looks pretty complex and looks like it requires a lot of thinking. i tried playing it without reading the instructions and all i've managed to deduce is that at the end of the game you're supposed to have more slugs in your jar than your opponent.
just the thing we need to clear up our monday brain fuzz. =)
remember the scene from karate kid in which mr. miyagi catches a fly with his chopsticks?
i'm sure a lot of people attempted the same feat after watching it, although like me, their attempts were probably all in vain.
thanks to the net, you can now re-attempt the feat online in this game. (although i don't think it's much easier)
hey, check out this pretty cool mod of the old classic snake game.
i know a lot of you won't be able to make any use of this link as it requires a download, but i thought i'd post it for those of you who might have played the original push-the-guy-down-the-stairs (porrasturvat).
this time around it's a truck instead of a hapless would-be crash test dummy.
sure, it's a strange name, but still a cool adventure game from the people who love to entertain: lego.
unfortunately, i'm not speaking of the great bill gates, but this collection of games will surely waste your time as much as mr. gates and the bsod have.
it's the classic game of memory for cat lovers; meowmory. (thks f for linkage)
anyone who ever loved myst will surely get hooked on this similar game that involves floating tree trunks in outer space. one of the best puzzle-adventure games i've seen on the net!
this quaint little flash animation is certainly one of the better ones i've seen around. check it out!
hey, it's monday. let's get unproductive early with this choplifter clone about a witch and some kidz.
it's yet another mod on the first ever video game. this time it's called rong.
pish is a strangely themed game that seems basic enough in its design and goals and had me occupied a little longer than most.
haha. it's the original lite brite, ported to the net. awesome, if only for a few minutes. =)
another simple yet simply addictive game to while away your day.
one of the oldest games known (and often still played by some of the oldest people i know, especially in karaokes), rock/paper/scissors has been ported to the web.
this is one of the coolest games i've come across on the net in a while.
it's in the form of an online quest for information. step into the shoes of a cyber detective/relic hunter and make sure you've got some time to spare.
hit me up if you get stuck!
this is somewhat retarded, kinda like the pet pikachu contained therein, but hey, it's friday.
after trying this a few times, i sadly realized that i've been deceiving myself most of my adult life.
i am not ninja.
(but apparently, with a best time of 0.159 secs i have the ninja spirit within me. i just need more ninja training)
got some stress to relieve before the long weekend?
why not send some attacking stick figures through the air and let gravity help you defend your castle!
disclaimer: due to the addictive nature of this game any cts/wrist injuries resulting from this post are your own damn fault.
could it be any hotter in toronto right now?
maybe playing a game of tobaggan jump will help, but somehow, i doubt it.
perfect for hump day, this heptathlon game starring the uk's denise lewis is engaging, if you like olympic sports at all, that is.
back in the dos days, there came a tiny little b.a.s.i.c. game called snake that was pretty cool when played with someone you knew.
here's a new version of the same game; too bad it's only available in single player mode.
no, it's actually physics you'll need in this game.
as usual, it's often the simplest of games that can be the most frustrating when they turn out to be the most difficult.
rescue the mountain climbers while avoiding crashing your chopper and/or bashing your rescuer against something uh...rocky.
make sure to read the instructions on the interface in this golf game, and you'll find that it's one of the better ones online.
took me a while before i read the instructions, and consequently all my shots went right.
strangely enough, the same thing's been happening at the driving range. =)
hey hey.
i knew it had been a while since my last entry here, but little did i know that it was almost a month...oops.
anyway, it really wasn't that long, considering the fact that i had some entries logged that i just hadn't posted, so if you're wondering where the backdated entries came from, they were always there, but were in hiding.
kinda like ninja.
tetrapak makes great packaging for a variety of things, like milk.
it seems they make games now too.
here's a strategy game that takes a while to figure out, but will surely eat up a ton of company time once you have.
if you liked q-bert, you'll enjoy this 3d version that's also quite a bit more challenging than the original.
different from the normal counter productive posts i usually have here, this one actually makes you think.
i haven't tried it yet, but if anyone solves it, let me know.
it dives. it ducks. it's a diving duck.
it's a diving duck you've gotta read the instructions for to play.
there really is something strange about how links i come across tend to be of the same type. it's uncanny to the point of almost being scary.
without further ado, then, here's yet another arkanoid/breakout type game whose link was emailed to me.
speaking of the law of gravity, this breakout-type game should keep ya interested for a while.
the title alone of this game had me interested simply because...well, those of you who know why are sure to be just as interested, so suffice it to say that i was surprised to find that this game was all about snowsledding, and was actually quite entertaining. (shockwave req'd)
friday, again?
here's another version of photo hunt that'll keep ya busy.
the much lauded hulk movie is due out in theatres june 20 and the trailer looks pretty impressive.
until then though, if you can't wait for a little smashing and bashing hulk-style, release some tension here.
golf season is once again upon us, and for those of us who haven't hit a ball yet or don't know how, why not get in the spirit by teeing off with a squirrel?
this site requires that you have flash installed, although you might want to have received merchandise you ordered from here to really appreciate it.
at some point, after the letters w-t-f were superimposed over the screen by my mind for a while, i realized that this was some kind of game.
i think.
if anyone has the time to figure it out, please let me know. (i believe you need to use your mouse.)
golf's season's almost here, why not practice your putting skills?
last week as i was sitting in the salon looking like a wacky version of little red riding hood (i was getting highlights in my hair) a friend who was with me offered to paint my hair because our hair stylist was extremely busy.
he asked her how good her hand-eye coordination was, and i interjected with "she's not very good at video games," all the while thinking that i'd come out with a strangely dyed head of hair if he allowed her to demonstrate what i already knew.
thankfully, he didn't and i can leave the house sans hat because of it. how good is your hand-eye coordination? my fastest time on level 1, after 3 tries was 19.87 secs @ 96.15%.
hey...guess what? they've ported the classic text based role playing game (rpg) called zork (here's where we separate the old-skoolers from the wanna-be's) to php.
it's cool, it's online, and it'll waste a crapload of company time!
take a look at this very extensive and well done flash that purports to be the periodic table of all things elementally male.
sure to keep even the most diligent (flight-sim-junkie) employees unproductive for a little while, this java based game actually had me reading its instructions, because i couldn't get off the runway. =)
cool stick man game based on the best stick animations on the web today: xiao xiao.
it's only because i think i spent way too long on this conceptually simple game that i'm posting it here. (shockwave req'd)
another somewhat entertaining street racing game, based on the movie that shares its name.
cool little ghetto half-pipe skateboarding game. why ghetto? because the half-pipe is in need of constant repair!
a very well done and extremely counter-productive racing game, which you'll need shockwave for. download and install shockwave if you don't have it, it'll be worth it.
feeling a little stressed this week? take out your pent up friday stress on this flash animation.
a nice little flash game with excellent graphics, in case your hump day is a little slow.
you've got to check out this flash animation featuring none other than mario, of donkey kong fame, steppin' up and steppin' out.
pretty cool flash version of the real life tabletop favourite. and bonus for me; i can even win when i play this one. =)
that's right, it's sunday and as usual i'm at a loss for words as another weekend winds down. i will, however, leave you with these:
armadillo knight - pretty cool side-scrolling game with nice graphics.
mardi gras soccer - it'll keep ya busy for at least 5 minutes.
cubis - another addictive little puzzle game/evolved tetris clone.
capoeira fighter 2 - cool fighting game in the brazilian martial art style with good graphics.
memory madness - another 'simon' clone, but harder.
how much coffee have you had today? or rather how much coffee haven't you had? haha. you'll need to have steady hands to play this game. prepare to be annoyed.
no, i'm not dyslexic...some counter productive fun at poor ol' britney's expense.
a deceptively simple yet challenging game, space runner is sure to keep you occupied for at least a few minutes. =)
virtua fighter takes a visit to yer local trailer park in this pretty cool game.
that's right. make-a-flake, and no, not in the figurative sense.
the spring solstice is fast approaching and with winter on it's last legs, why not try this snowflake maker and bring back memories from waaay back when.
weird. i'm not looking for these links. seriously, what's with the nostalgic trip lately?
pacing back and forth to the water cooler with absolutely nothing to do today? or rather, with nothing you would like to do today? =)
not to worry. i've dug up a couple of mindless time wasting activities just in time for friday.
doodle here or deface a celebrity here and feel free to send your doodles to me (instructions on how to accomplish this are on the page).
regress a bit and annoy the hell out of your coworkers (like the ones playing mozart and singing karaoke to country music) with speak and spell.
play the classic tetris with a new twist here.
still not enough? fine. if you get through these today, it's time for the rest of us to apply at your company. =)
have a great friday everyone!
judge wapner, eight o'clock, uh oh...judge wapner...
137. 137 matches. uh oh.
anyone ever play the classic game of speed?
i loved it when i was younger, and still play it from time to time with friends, although these days a game which involved me would be more appropriately named lack of speed. =)
bring it on g!
funny how this whole week's been nothing but one kind of post. i suppose it does nothing but show what kind of mood i've been in.
oh well, why break tradition this fine friday afternoon; land a blob, or get to know the real you with another colour test. (thks g)
i know more than a few of my friends have been a little more anxious than normal waiting for the weekend to arrive. if you're one of those people, you know why, as this weekend is one that's been three years in the making.
to help you get through the final day or so of the week check out this cool multiplayer glob game, nabisco's very own version of mini golf (shockwave needed) or, if you've got a lot of time on your hands, see if you've got what it takes to manage a company.
last thursday i was having a drink with some friends and was talking to one friend in particular who is the queen of excuses when it comes to...well, almost anything.
what she was trying to explain to me was why she hadn't returned a phone call from the previous week, and because i had heard her many attempts at justification a hundred times before, i pulled a dr. evil on her and simply cut off every excuse she attempted with the infamous zip, zippy longstocking, as well as the shh! series of interjections.
i've got to make sure to get a portable one of these the next time i talk to her.
this one's for you, m...happy birthday, btw. =)
wow. there are tons of mods and emulators out there, but these guys have taken it to a whole new level with this donkey kong jr. emulator.
i received this (excel file) a few days ago via email and to my dismay i could only decipher 10 of the items, so i consoled myself with the fact that i looked at it only briefly, and that it was the beginning of the week.
still, i haven't made another attempt at solving the rest for fear that i won't get any further.
after my pathetic scores on that test, i thought i'd take a little ego-trip with this brainless mansa quiz, only to find that i fared only slightly better, with 59%.
still struggling to prove to myself that my brain wasn't complete toast, i tried hello kitty's quiz to see what the good ol' sanrio character had to say.
heh. i finally received the kind of result i expected, as i was presented with an 'a'. type a that is. apparently my power to create romance is very strong.
somehow, that wasn't much consolation, especially considering its source. (thks e)
this page professes to be able to read your mind. you be the judge, can it?
a little different from the usual game posts, these games/puzzles are sure to encourage your brain to get out of weekend mode.
if they don't, then you've probably had the kind of weekend that i have. =)
i know, it's only tuesday, but throwing a chicken back and forth at an opponent had me so amused that i just had to share.
or maybe it was because the person i was playing with sucked. regardless, check out the poulaga challenge!
arghh...if you've got nothing to do today, check out this game,
gridlock. one of those brain busting day wasting games that you just can't get away from.
just uploaded a vid of the wikkedest liquider you'll ever see to nexfilez.
ok, there's not much i can say about this one. you've just got to try it!
just came across a gem for this weekend. a gem in online games, that is. warner brothers online has some really cool high quality flash/shockwave games on their site that are definitely worth checking out.
for a mindless shooter, try their galaga clone ablast, and for some lengthier and more brain taxing gaming, try their multi-episode adventure games try arcane and steppenwolf.
personally, i liked all of these blown up to full screen size, and to do that you'll have to hack the url a tad, so here's arcane - episode 1 and steppenwolf - episode 1.
now in the window that opens after you click on those links, look in the address bar and for arcane change the "1" in "Arc2Episode1.swf" of the url to any episode number up to 8, and for steppenwolf, again change the "1" in "episode1.swf" of the url to anything up to "21" (that's right, 21 episodes for steppenwolf).
enjoy!
continuing along the theme of rarity, i just realized that i don't send out forwards anymore, partly because i'm too lazy and partly because of tangents, of course. sending out forwards requires way too much consideration anyway, and i certainly don't want to be responsible for anyone losing their job or for bringing down a corporate email server with hella large attachments.
so, i've uploaded a few files to my yahoo briefcase that i think are worthy of a download at some point, and i'm posting this link with the far from implicit built in disclaimer that "it's not my fault". most are movies, and right now there's a game on there as well that i mentioned in an earlier post. enjoy!
haha. it's not so often anymore that i get emails with links to games that are funny. i did today, however and it's just in time for friday. liven up your friday morning with ass hunter! (thks v)
looking almost like something you'd see on an iq test, this game contributed to quite a bit of my counter productivity yesterday.
remember pitfall harry? the star of the classic atari 2600 hit pitfall? well, he's back, in this remarkably accurate online emulation! (shockwave req'd)
remember that masochistic barrel o' fun elementary school game, dodgeball? well, if you were always the one going home with more than your pride bruised, try this online version.
at first glance, this game seemed a little simplistic and with 'top secret kid' emblazoned across the top of it, i almost didn't even bother playing it. but i did. half an hour later i decided that it actually had me slightly hooked. =)
some of my friends and i have recently become somewhat addicted to a game called wordster at our favourite place to chill, and until now i couldn't find anything like it online or for the pc. thankfully, the wonderful people at gamehouse have created texttwist, which is about 95% the same game! enjoy, and if you'd like the downloadable version for your pc that doesn't need to be registered, let me know.
well, it's the new year, and things are finally getting back to normal. i don't know about the rest of you but the mid-week holidays this year totally wacked out my internal sense of time and space. i'm just catching up and today finally remembered correctly what day of the week it was more than once. it's friday right?
well, whatever day it is, i'm going to start off the new year with a typical counter productive friday post anyway. start your year off with some fun. play online scrabble or for more mindless fun, how about some drew-bert (a q-bert remake).
some stickman games that'll keep ya unproductive for a little while.
it's yet another friday, so take a load off and blow up some asteroids, or other people. if that's not your thing, how about some rc racing? finally, check out the amazingly entertaining internet tennis!
while i have seen the game dance dance revolution in many an arcade, and have even been encouraged just as many times to try it (for the sake of a certain someone's entertainment), i had never known how popular it was until i started seeing videos of kids on the machine. it was then that i realized that there was no way in hell that i was going to attempt that, for fear of breaking something or pulling a muscle i had yet to discover.
thankfully though, someone's come up with an online version that we, who are a little less limber, can play. after 3 games my high score is 101860 (Get on the Move)! i welcome any challengers. post your scores in comments!
someone might kill me for posting this, but i just had way too much fun. kill the teletubbies!
if you're more into monkeys than obnoxious stuffed alien freaks, see how fast you can spank the monkey. i spanked my the monkey at 178 miles/hour. ouch.
(flash + sound req'd)
there are times when i think this is so true. scary. yeah, meow. (flash + sound req'd)
and so another week ends. that's right. it's friday! this cup o' joy will either get your day started off right, or will make you wish you owned a gun.
if that's not enough to get you going, have a gander at groovin' granny doin' the ketchup dance.
on the other hand, if you've had an absolutely perfect week, go ahead and beat yourself up!
for the golfers in the audience, one of the better online golf games i've come across.
a nice rendition of the original battleship game. so true to the original that i lost in this version, too.
evolving from television to a board game, the familiar and popular pictorial offspring of charades has taken the next step-an addictive counter-productive online version called isketch.
-how well do you know 007?
-we didn't start the fire
-poke the penguin
take a trip back to your childhood and enjoy building with lego, except that now, you have all the pieces available to you. for those who need to build on a larger scale, check this out.
it's quite possible and more than probable that i was tired and my brain was fried when i watched this, but i found it stupid to the point of amusing. electronic slapstick, if you will. based loosely on the first video game ever, watch it, and leave a comment with your thoughts. have i lost it?
have you had your coffee yet today? test the steadiness of your hands. on the flipside, if your hands are too steady, get yer dose of adrenaline courtesy of john woo's short film, hostage.
that's right. putt putt for the fun of it. macromedia shockwave needed, but worth the wait if you have to download and install it (sorry to those who can't at work...you should really get your computer at home set up =))
more friday fun. if you've got sound, this'll hopefully make you smile. and if there are any physics geeks in the audience, this might be more your style. finally if your day and/or week has been a hectic one, relax, it is friday after all, and the weekend is here!
it's friday again. thank goodness. and can you believe it, it's november already? you wouldn't know it from the wonderful weather we're having though would you? i often suspect that i must be part lizard at times, as right now the cold is making me long to thermoregulate, needing some warmth to get my brain working.
or maybe that's just the way the week's been.
anyhow, if you've got nothing else to do, this site offers free tarot, numerology and various other -ancies and -ologies (like astrology) and meg has some horoscopes that'll be sure to entertain those that are just as much in need of thermoregulation as i am. enjoy.
it's the familiar game of simon, modified for some end-of-friday fun
addictive, distracting game of reflexes and accuracy. my highscore's 265000 so far
now if they could only make one for barney: punch doughboy || farting doughboy
'don't do drugs and launch frutiger at the same time. you might implode' roll your mouse over the flashing squares.
