New Orleans Square

 Pirates of the Caribbean

Are you ready to sail through cursed waters, fight with pirates, and escape the grasp of Davy Jones? Then this is the ride for you, Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. This adventure on the high seas is a Disneyland classic that the whole family will enjoy.

This ride has more than 67 human and 55 animal animated characters. The ride is the last ride that Walt Disney Personally oversaw. Much of the rides show building exists outside of Disneyland itself, and boats must travel underneath the earthen berm that surrounds the park. It is a common misconception that Pirates is completely underground. The queue and boarding areas, as well as the Blue Bayou restaurant, exist on the 2nd level of the enormous structure where New Orleans Square resides. The interiors of the ride exist at ground level. The buildings you see across the tracks near the New Orleans Square Railroad Station are actually false fronts hiding the huge show building.

The Guide to Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of those have to ride, rides. The main thing to remember is that the line may look long, but it goes by really fast and never really stops moving. New Orleans Square entertainment will help pass the time as well. When you get to the bridge part of the line, the line splits into two lines. TAKE THE RIGHT LINE! It is shorter then the left. The left line takes you back behind the building and wraps around. Also the left line is right next to the sewer system so it does not smell so good. Also we recommend not riding Pirates at night if Fantasmic is playing. New Orleans Square in general is a nightmare, and the Pirates line is right in the thick of it. Before 8:00-8:15 PM and after 11:00PM would be the times to ride. Between those times the ropes are up for Fantasmic and the crowds poor in for the two showings. When you exit the ride, we recommend going left instead of right. There are alot of hidden shops to the left of the exit and fun little things to do. Also you can take a restroom break if you need to.
