FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND  Newmarket Town have been drawn away to Berkhamsted on Saturday August 27th. If we get through to the First Rd Qualifying,then we are at home to Wootton Blue Cross/Desborough or Barton Rovers. FA VASE 2ND round qualifying:Newmarket Town v Biggleswade or Walsham Le Willows.  FA YOUTH CUP 1st Round  Newmarket Town v Bugbrooke St Michael or Histon.

17/7/05  Troubles at Clacton Town continue.After last weeks training sessions that saw 5 players turn up at one and then 2 turn up at the next one.Mick Watson was relieved of his duties as Chairman during the week and then at yesterdays pre season friendly at homw to Berkhamsted only 9 players turned up for Clacton and their visitors loaned them 2 players for the match,a game that Berkhamsted won 4-0.Also assistant manager Steve Ball,formerly of Stanway Rovers and Arsenal walked out before the match and paid compliments to the Clacton faithful.(www.thefullerflavour.co.uk)

16/7/05  Bury Town have signed 18 year old defender/midfielder Richard Butler from relegated Stowmarket.Butler spent the last two years at Stow and last season was in the same Suffolk U18 side as Adam Burns that won the FA County Youth Cup.

16/7/05  Experienced midfielder Gary Butterworth has signed for Ridgeons League Premier Division club Wisbech Town. Thirty-five-year-old Butterworth  spent last season with Stamford in the Southern League Premier Division, but couldn't prevent their relegation to Division One East. He made 120 first-team appearances for Peterborough United before joining Dagenham & Redbridge in 1992.
              He transferred to Rushden & Diamonds in July 1994 for £22,000 and spent eight seasons with them, helping them achieve their ambition of League football. He was on the losing side of a Division Three play-off final in 2001, but was on hand to help them win the League the following season. He made nine appearances in the England semi-professional side, including several as captain.
             He joined Farnborough Town in 2002 and came on as a late sub against Arsenal in their FA Cup Fourth Round match at Highbury, before moving on to Kettering Town in June 2003 and then King's Lynn in February 2004. Also signing on the dotted line is defender Chris Dear, who had been interesting at least one other Ridgeons League side. (www.nonleaguedaily.com)
