Our holiday club

To start the holiday club of we purchased some items from one years amenity grant then raised money from the Webb Ivory Catalogue to support the continuation of the club, that way we do not have to charge anyone to attend.

At the start of each holiday any new equipment, food and drink are paid for out of the catalogues commission.  Food and drink include crisps, little cakes, sweets and soft drinks, which we sell for a very small amount (just enough to buy more supplies for the next session).

Ages of the children attending range from 1 – 16 years.  We play all sorts of games but the all time favourite is ‘Twister’, we have pogo sticks and stilts, hoola hops, and we play various ball games, card games and make models.  However I think giving each other rides in the wheelbarrows we transport the equipment in gives the most fun!!

All the children in attendance are issued with their own membership card and number and for every day they are present they get a sticker which is placed on the back of the card and the person with the most stickers wins a little prize at the end of the holiday.

Unfortunately we do not have a community centre so we have to hold these days outside therefore they are very much weather permitting and quite a few times we have took all the equipment down to the site only for it to cloud over and rain heavily within half and hour.

We are always looking for new equipment, toys and games if you live locally and have some good condition items you could donate we would be happy to collect them for you just email me at newlarks@ntlworld.com
