Newlarks Residents Association

covering issues in St Catherines Court and Woodlark Close in Ipswich

The Amenity & Estate improvement Fund

The Amentity Fund

In the past the Amenity Fund has purchased notice boards, bins, holiday club equipment and fencing to make communal grassed areas in the front of the maisonettes in Newnham Court into more of personal garden space thus providing a safer place for the children to play.

In 2005 after a spate of damage to cars in St Catherines Court we installed additional security lighting for our more vulnerable car parking areas.

2006 we paid for a tree to be removed and ground down from the play area.

2007 we paid for shrubs, plants, bark chipping and seats to complete the lanscaping in the play area and a notice board

We need suggestions for what to spend the money on this year so if you have any ideas email us on Newlarks ALL suggestions will be considered by our committee members so please send them in.

Estate Improvements fund

Last year OHA give Newlarks a pot of money, £8.000, which we had control over how we wanted to spend.

This year through consulations with residents in the estate we paid for a bin and laundry drying area to be improved adjacent to one block of flats.

We have not heard yet from OHA if we are going to be awarded another 'pot' this year but if we are we will consider all the jobs which need doing in the estate (non OHA responsibility) and prioritise them, once again this will be under committee approval.

Please feel free to make any suggestions and bring them forward to the committee or email me on Newlarks
