This is a must read page!

First off we had a hard time judging the last round because some videos weren't entered into the proper categories. So we will be trying something different this round 5. We made a list of some of the important things you need to know in order to enter into some of the categories. If you honestly know that your video is not up to the standards for a certain category on this list then please don't enter it in that category. Please know that we are not trying to be rude in anyway. This is to benefit everyone to win more awards. You must read the entire page to submit a video. We will know if you did. I also want to stress that if this list is not followed I am sorry to say that we will not except that video and I will send you an e-mail letting you know why.

The most important ones I must explain are:

Best Editing

Best Timing

Best Effects

Best Use of Colors

Best Character

Best POV

In order to win anything on this you must have great editing skills. This means we don't want to see endless talking which is a huge distraction. The voice must be loud enough if you do use voiceovers. There can't be any leaked scenes due to bad cutting and editing. The sound of the song must be good. Timing should be good. The video must make sense and be more then just a bunch of random clips shoved together. We need to be able to follow where a video is going. Editing is more then just good timing, so just because WOW you can put a video fast paced to a song doesn't mean it is the "BEST" so please follow this.

This should be RIGHT ON BEAT plain and simple. There should be some kind of feeling of flow with the music. Doesn't matter if its slow or fast. Bumps, clicks, pops, even just the actual song itself should move with the video. If there are effects used that is fine, but this could be also with just the simple hard cuts of the clips.

There has to be some kind of effects in the video. We see alot entered in this with no effects, i am not even joking.

Colors, glows, shades, tones, mirror effects....you get the point. There has got to be effects to be entered in to this category. By the way, effects don't mean that you need to overdue it either. There has to be a balance of this. Transitions are not always effects by the way. If your video looks like nothing but a screensaver, we wont like it. Please use effects wisely, and actually have effects if you enter into this category.

There must be colors used. For example you can use colors to express someones feelings or maybe memories. Some of you use Sony Vegas and I have seen awesome colors from many of you. Please don't overuse this effect either.

This most focus on ONE character. Now this doesn't mean other people can't be in the video. Of course there must be a storyline to the video. We just want it to be mainly about one person. For example if your video is called "Padme & Anakin - Falling in Love" then that is not about one person most likely.

This should be about the persons POV. This could be about more then one POV. Just as long as it focuses on the feelings or ideas a person has or had.

I only focused on these categories because I feel that these are the ones people get wrong most of the time. Generally vidders like to win awards for these but we have to be fare and only award those who actually show the skills in a certain category. Remember I have added new categories and please always think about the categories before you enter. We have often judged a video and feel it had potential in say "Best Action" and it wasn't entered into it. Even worse we watch a video that has no direction or timing and its entered into "Best Editing" or "Best Timing." We feel bad to say some videos have left us clueless and don't know what else to do with it. We feel we are pretty lenient with vidders and give them more of a chance then other award sites.

So just please follow these extra rules that are easy to follow.
