Brain Awareness Week  Volunteering

As many of you know, Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is our big event of the spring (along with Research Fair which will be taking place during BAW this year) so this is your chance as active members to participate/ volunteer!  (Non-active members are more than welcome too!)

On our "What's Happening" page,  there are the days and times that we need help either building, brainstorming, or actually participating in BAW.  An interactive sign-up sheet will be up on that page soon, but before it is, we need help for THIS WEEKEND.  Sunday, Feb. 22nd at about 1pm we are having a pre-building session, possibly we'll get to building that day but everything needs to be planned out first so that we do not waste our limited materials.

Sunday Feb. 22nd's "build" will be hosted by Justin Krup so if you are able to help on that day, contact him at (954)-643-1085 or mazlix@gmail.com .

We only need about 5 people per building day unless announced otherwise.  We only have 2 weekends and one officer meeting to get everything done!  Sign up ASAP.

February 17th meeting

The next meeting is Tuesday February 17th at 7:20 PM in room NPB 1002. Snacks provided!

Research in Neuroimaging, Stroke, Rehabilitation, Movement Disorders, Deep Brain Stimulation and more presented by Dr. Keith White

Coming up we have two weekends of projects to build for Brain Awareness Week held at an officers home.  Sign up sheets will be available at the meetings and on this website. Research Fair and Brain Awareness Week are a month away (March 16th-20th) So that doesn't leave us much time.

Due to the very low club fees, Active members are required to either participate in or help plan each event (there will be 5 maximum events).  Participation in an event can be traded with helping out with a fund raiser.  If you have any questions, e-mail Nicole Flaig at niky98@ufl.edu

February 3rd meeting

The next official meeting is Tuesday Feb. 3rd at 7:20pm in NPB 1002.

January 20th first meeting

Why the book is just as good as the movie: emotional imagery activities in the brains motivational circuitry presented by Vincent Costa

Coming up we have a Research Fair March 19th during Brain Awareness Week, several volunteer and philanthropic opportunities, a focus on Autism in April, and Brain Awareness Week March 16th-20th.

Due to the very low club fees, Active members are required to either participate in or help plan each event (there will be 5 maximum events).  Participation in an event can be traded with helping out with a fund raiser.  If you have any questions, e-mail Nicole Flaig at niky98@ufl.edu
