Troubleshooting

Q:  I've installed the gadget and it's not/stopped working
A:  Few things that can cause this...

  • First be sure that your Google Desktop status isn't set to "none"... if it is, Google Desktop won't start the gadgets.  To remedy this, right click the Google Desktop tray icon and choose one of the other options (sidebar, deskbar, or floating deskbar).
  • Be sure the "Enable my taskbar buttons to be draggable" checkbox is checked. ;)
  • Otherwise it's most likely a bug in the gadget.  Please contact me and let me know what version of Windows you're using, along with the state of your Google Desktop (i.e. sidebar, deskbar, floating deskbar, none).  If you can reproduce it, please also include those steps.

Q:  I have Taskbar Shuffle (desktop) installed, will this interfere?
A:  You can't have Taskbar Shuffle (desktop) running while using this gadget.  Either shut it down temporarily, or uninstall it if you end up liking the gadget better.
