Tranparency Tutorial

Don’t you just hate it when you create a picture and it has a large block of colour aroud it, well with this tutorial you can get rid of it. All you need is Paint Shop Pro to create a transparent background.

If you do not have paint shop pro you can download it from jasc.com.

1. Pick an image that you want to make transparent and open it in Paint Shop Pro. I will be using this doll made from Josies dollz.

2. Click on view, then toolbars, then web and a toolbar should come up.

The toolbar should look like this:

3. Now click on the blue arrow that says GIF on it and a window should pop up.

4. Where the box says “areas that match this colour” you need to make the colour the colour of your background. For example. On mine I would make it the exact same purple. To get the exact same colour, all you need to do is click the colour of the background of your original picture.

5. If it dosent, make sure that under partial transparency the “blend colour” is the same and that the “Use full transparency for pixels below” is on 5%.

6. Now all you have to do is click OK and save it. Your picture should now have a transparent background.
