The first 60 copies of each breed will be available the day of the NEODGA show June 1st and 2nd at the Wayne Co. Fairgrounds in Wooster Ohio. We expect to order more for future sales and will also ship them if desired, but we were only able to have 60 of each printed in time for the June show so get yours early!! Alpine dairy goats, also called French Alpines, are alertly graceful, with erect ears and a straight face, offering all colors and combinations of colors (not all white or Toggenburg colored) with distinction and individuality of appearance. They are hardy and thrive in any climate while maintaining good health and excellent milk production.
LaMancha dairy goats, developed in the U.S.A., are known for dairy temperament, sturdiness and having excellent milk production high in butterfat. The LaMancha face is straight and any colors are acceptable. Short ears are it’s distinctive feature with two types: Gopher ears are 1 inch or less, Elf ears are 1- 2 inches and allowed only for does.
Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats are a miniature breed originating in West Africa; developed in the United States. It has balanced proportions with the appearance of the larger breeds, but does are no more than 22.5" (57cm) and bucks no more than 23.5" (60cm). They may be any colors, their face is either straight or dished, ears are medium length and erect.
Nubian dairy goats are a relatively large, proud, and graceful dairy goat of mixed origin, known for high quality, high butterfat, milk production. The head is the distinctive breed characteristic, with a Roman nose and long wide pendulous ears, extending at least 1” beyond the muzzle. Any color or colors, solid or patterned, is acceptable.
Oberhasli dairy goats are a Swiss dairy goat of medium size, vigorous and alert in appearance. The face is straight or dished with erect ears. It’s color is chamoisee: bay ranging from light to a deep red bay (Does may be black) . Markings are in black with distinctive stripes on the face and back, a black muzzle, forehead, belly and lower legs.
Saanen dairy goats are a Swiss breed and medium to large in size with plenty of vigor and a rugged build, though does are feminine. They are white (preferred) or light cream in color. Ears should be erect and alertly carried, preferably pointing forward. The face should be straight or dished. (A registry for non-white goats has developed from this breed: Sables)
Toggenburg dairy goats are a Swiss dairy goat. They are medium size, sturdy, vigorous, and alert in appearance. It’s color is solid varying from light fawn to dark chocolate with distinct white markings: stripes down the face across eyes, ears (dark middle), lower legs, and beside tail. The ears are erect and face may be dished or straight but not roman.
