New at Neopets

This is the ultimate guide for newbies. This guide stops you from getting scammed, hacked, frozen and well... just making a fool of yourself. First thing to do is sign up. Do that by clicking here.

That gets you started up. Now, the best thing to do would be create a pet. Choose one which you take a liking to (restricted and limited editions are very hard to get) so you won't need to abandon it later, which first of all is mean to the poor thing, and second of all, costs money. Note: You get money for creating a pet - 50NPS.

Secondly, go to your inventory (up at the top right hand corner, click on the place where it says how much money you have) and collect your newbie pack. You get 2 magical paint brushes and 2 petpets. I'm not too sure that's what you get now, since TNT regularly change the newbie pack.

By this time, it would be wise to create a bank. Right now you should be doing all you can to earn neopoints, and well, you have to make sure the Bug Brothers or Ghosts don't steal it from you. With the bank comes a free safety deposit box where you can keep items safe and an extra 30 NPS plus the interest you get everyday.

Now would be the time to explore Neopets. Explore from faerieland all the way to shenkuu! If you're going to tell the difference between a paint brush and a dung cake, you might as well start at the basics. But if you have a question like what is the square root of pie (lol, just joking ;) I mean something like "How do I get a Neohome?" then go to the neoboards. Go to the neoboards (look at the right hand side of your navigation bar) then click on Help. Here you can ask all the questions you want (apart from ones which break the rules, but we'll get onto that later).

After mucking about and having a laugh, this is the time to get serious. You wouldn't want to get frozen in your first week right? Ok, let's get some things clear.
