1. First, get the picture you want. I have chosen a darigan hissi.
2. Then open up a new file and have it 150 pixels by 150. Next, type in some text. This will be the text you will animate.
3. Now here comes the animation part. Open up your animation palette and make sure you only have one frame. Next, rasterize your text layer.
4. Now, duplicate the layer. For that, go to layer duplicate layer. Do that as many times as there are letters in your word. Eg. I want to make my neofantasy blink, and there are 10 letters in the word. So I duplicate my layer 9 times, which leaves me with 1 original layer and 9 duplicated ones. Understood?
5. Create 9 more frames on your animation palette. I would create 9, but you would create how many you duplicated. Click on the first frame and click the eye next to all of the layers apart from the first one. On the second layer, click the eye on the second layer and the first layer. On the third layer click the eye on the third layer and the first. With me so far?
6. Once done, click on the first frame and pick a different colour than the one you started with. I chose white. Then choose the paint bucket tool and fill in the first letter. If you paint bucket tool is set to gradient, right click and select the bucket.
7. When finished, go to the second frame and colour in the second letter. And then the third... and so on. Remember, if you can't seem to colour in the letter make sure you are not colouring in the stroke or onthe wrong layer.
8. Once you're done select play and voila! Then save it as a .gif file.
