CAST OF CHARACTERS
DoA was born out of my desire to cement the plotline of the original, stand-alone story: "DoR." In essence, I wanted to write an extended prologue that dealt with the events prior to DOR so that I could further have control and direction in the original story. So, DoA will actually be short in length and will not tie any loose ends, but rather will open the path for the real story. It's really an extended version of a prologue.
Sebastian's character is extremely important to me, so much, that I have made the entire prequel completely in his point of view. My goal was to flesh him out even more from the villain that I had already created. I wanted to give him more life, feelings, and intensity. With that said, this story is extremely personal to me and posted for Cassandra's entertainment (ha, ha) because otherwise I would have never published it.
I cannot stress enough that 'Dreams of Angst' will not answer any of your questions or culminate in a place that can be taken as 'the end.' Because the end of DoA is only the beginning-- just the background-- of what is to come. Thanks for supporting it-- yes-- but don't be shocked if the finale leaves you wondering many things; it's supposed to. ~ DoR -- the "sequel" -- will take place a few months after the finale of DoA. I expect to decide what to do some weeks after wrapping up since all of DoA is typed up -- I just have to re-write and change things.
A very important note for DOA is the music featured at the very beginning (and sometimes middle) of each chapter. These pieces of lyrics mean what perhaps the chapter itself fails to translate-- and it's also the music I listen to as I write. All songs are from the band Buck-Tick and mostly originally written in Japanese. The English translations are courtesy of this is NOT greatest site.
Why are all of the songs from Buck-Tick?
I've gotten this question a lot. The answer is simple: they fit the mood. AND -- the lead singer is the model for Sebastian's physical appearance. When I say him I thought that my evil character had come to life. The way his voice sounds, and the way he looks (in some specific moments) is perfect for the image I have of him. ^__^
