As we prepare for the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans, LA, July 22-26, 2009, this site will be used to pass on important information as well as keep you updated with what is going on with the Gathering.

It is important to know this Gathering experience is going to be unlike others in years past. For instance, there will be no more standing in line waiting to be shuttled back to your hotel, because there will not be any transportation provided by the Gathering to/from hotels. Please be prepared to walk 3-4 miles each day. I would encouarge you to inform your groups to start walking now...because it will be July in the south when you are there. The folks that planned the gathering have walked from each hotel property to the meeting sites, and know that it can be done. There is an option of public transportation via the trolley system. ($1.25 each way, exact change only).

Also, it becomes extremly important that each person has a water bottle for the week. Remember, it is July in the south!
