All of the team members must remain together for the duration of the event or the whole team will be disqualified.

Marines never leave anyone behind – neither will you!

Special team circumstances: should all four members of your team have registered online and a member fails to show up for the event, the remaining team members may participate after notifying the Mud Run Director.  Here's the big however - for the sand bag carries, each team must move all four sand bags each way.  Example - if only two team members of the four member team show up for the race, those two members will have to carry all four sandbags each way, so make sure you have committed team members.

Awards

Awards will be provided in the following categories:

  • Top 3 fast teams in each team category
  • Top 3 fastest teams overall
  • Top 3 fundraising teams
  • Top 3 best team outfits
  • Note - it is very possible that a team can get multiple awards.  If you don't like this, run faster and raise more money and design a better team outfit so your team can be that team that gets multiple awards

We've been asked a number of times if we can give awards for all male, all female and co-ed teams based on times and the answer is no.  Marines are Marines so we aren't concerned about the gender distribution in your team.  Last years fastest team was co-ed, 2nd place was all male and 3rd place was all female.  The first group to cross the finish line after the first wave (our of 6 groups) of runners was all female.  After having said all that, the real reason is that it cost 3 times as much for the purchase of 3 sets of awards.  So if you or your employer would like to give us $2,000 for the awards, we'd be happy to have separate gender categories.
