Nazareth Borough, PA Summer Recreation

June 23-27  Safety (local police and fireman teach you skills to have a safe summer)

Monday - Penn Star Helicopter will land @ 10 am on the back baseball field.  Everyone is welcome.

Tuesday - 10 am Action Karate will be conducting a class on "Bully-ing".  Everyone is welcome.

Wednesday - Ice Cream truck  $1 cones/dish only (ice cream and italian ice) no shakes or sundaes

Thursday - First trip to library (optional) If your child is going to walk to the library please remember to dress them in comfortable shoes.  Only children with library cards may check out books.

Friday - Swim day (10:30 am)  Please remember to send or wear your bathing suit, pack a towel, sunscreen and money for the snack stand.  The snack stand will be available to swimmers and non-swimmers.

Saturday - Movie:  Hairspray (rated pg - movie starts around 8:45 pm in our amphitheater)

Sunday - Concert:  Elvis Tribute Show featuring Brad Crum @ 6:30 pm in our band stage.  Free raffles for everyone in attendance.

June 30-July 4  Christmas in July (no camp on July 4)

Monday - CRAFT DAY  Submit an entry for the 2009 theme week contest.  We need new ideas for next year.  Fill out a form and be entered in the contest.  Any counselor or volunteer will help you fill out the form.  Prizes will be awarded the last week of camp. 

Tuesday - July 1st.  Celebrate with a visit from Santa.

Wednesday - Ice cream truck.  $1 cones/dishes

Thursday - Library.  Don't forget your books that are due, your card and wear comfortable shoes.  We also will have SWIM day today.  If you would like to go to the library and swim there will be enough time to do both.

Saturday - Come see the Slate Belt Community Band perform @  6:30 pm at our band stage a the park.  Free raffles for everyone in attendance.  Afterwards walk up to the amphitheater and watch the movie "Grease".   (rated pg - movie starts around 8:45 pm)  Free popcorn and candy for everyone.  http://www.slatebeltband.com/

July 7-11  Nature (experience education and crafts all related to nature)

Tuesday - Mr. Ed Yandrisovitz will bring his SNAKES!  Everyone is welcome.

Wednesday - Ice cream truck.  $1 cones/dishes.  (snake day rain date)  Coloring contest ages 6-9.

Thursday - Library day.   Don't forget to return any books due and wear comfortable shoes. 

Friday - Swim day.  Don't forget your towel, sunscreen, and money for the snack bar.

July 14 - no camp this week (help out your parents around the house this week)

July 21-25  Beach

Monday - CRAFT  DAY  Build a boat to race down the creek.  Submit an entry for the 2009 theme week contest.  We need new ideas for next year.  Fill out a form and be entered in the contest.  Any counselor or volunteer will help you fill out the form.  Prizes will be awarded the last week of camp.

Tuesday - Water wars.  Bring your favorite squirt gun.  You will be split into two teams and try to extinguish your oppposing teams' candle.   2nd day of boat building/finishing.

Wednesday -  CLOSED due to inclement weather.

Thursday -  CLOSED due to inclement weather.  (boat races tomorrow and balloon launch will be fit in within the next two weeks)

Friday - Boat races today @ 9:30 am sharp!   Swim day!  Don't forget sunscreen, towel, and money for the snack bar.

Saturday - The Cross Family Hand-Me-Downs will perform @ 6:30 at our band stage (free raffles for everyone in attendance) and then head up to our amphitheater to watch the movie   "We Are Marshall" (rated pg - movie starts around 8:45 pm)  Free popcorn and candy for everyone.

July 28-August 1  Sports (knock out, nok hockey, and balloon launch competitions)

Monday - Nok hockey tournament.   All will particpate.   Each age group will have a champ and then all champs will compete to be the "Ultimate Nok Hockey Champ".  Submit an entry for the 2009 theme week contest.  We need new ideas for next year.  Fill out a form and be entered in the contest.  Any counselor or volunteer will help you fill out the form.  Prizes will be awarded the last week of camp.

Tuesday - Action Karate will conduct a karate session from 10-11:30.  All will participate.  Don't forget to bring a water bottle. 

Wednesday - Swim Day!  We will have ice cream truck on Friday.  There will be a dunk tank on the pool deck today and you will be able to dunk your favorite counselor.  All will participate.  We will be in the pool area from 9:30 - 11:30 so bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, towel and money for the snack bar.

Thursday - Action Karate will conduct a "fitness challenge" from 9:30-11:30.  All will participate.

Friday - Ice Cream truck today.  Don't forget your money.   Basketball Knock Out Tournament.  All will participate.  Please dress accordingly and don't forget to bring a water bottle.  We will be over at the basketball courts for most of the day. 

August 4-8  Community involvement (clean up park, car wash, and picnic)

Monday - Clean up park.  Last chance to submit an entry for the 2009 theme week contest.  Winners, prizes and themed weeks chosen will be announced on Friday at our picnic.

Tuesday - Make signs for the car wash.  Balloon Launch Day. 

Wednesday - Car wash.  We offer a free car wash to the community.

Thursday - Library (car wash rain date)  Today will be our last swim day at the pool.  Don't forget sunscreen, towel and money for the snack bar.

Friday - Nazareth Borough Recreation's end of the season picnic.  Everyone is welcome.

Saturday - Movie:  Alvin and the Chipmunks (rated pg - movie starts around 8:45 pm in our amphitheater)  Free popcorn and candy for everyone.

Sunday - Concert:  Vince Pettinelli Orchestra @ 6:30 pm in our band stage.  Free raffles for everyone in attendance.
