NATIVE TONGUE

We’re fresh, we’re active and we won’t hold back! This is the first Asian-American newspaper for our community and for YOU. Through the paper, we gain a voice and representation as a strong, unified community. Our aim is to boost the social awareness of our campus, especially our Asian American community. When you read this paper, we hope you get down with the struggle (and if you’re already down, you can always get deeper.) We want to expose you to new sides of Asian America so as individuals and as a community we can fight for what we need at Rutgers, in America and around the globe.

The idea for this paper came from the lack of needed resources in our Asian American community. Our community does not have the political drive to give birth to activist groups and social movements. But don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on our Asian-American community, it's huge, it's thriving with enthusiasm and it's BEAUTIFUL. We just need to realize that we have great potential to create progressive change.
