Bay Area Native Nutrition

Site for Information on Bay Area Co-Op

This web site is devoted to information on a grass roots coop that a group of us are forming in the bay area. Our objective is to become personally acquainted with our farmers and knowledgable about the farming techniques that they are using in the production of our foods. We wish to further our own health while at the same time encouraging our farmers in the pursuit of mixed and sustainable farming, and helping them through our coordinated effort to keep alive the possibility of an alternative to industrialized farming. For those goods that are not locally available, our objective is to explore and find the best sources available and purchase as a group so as to both lower our prices and leverage our economic impact. [There is room for modifiction of this statement of purpose - come to our meeting!] The coop is presently centered in Berkeley, but collaborations are developing in Marin, San Francisco and Palo Alto.

For information about how to plug in, please contact Dev Rana, at right. As we take on the task of looking at producers of specific products, contact information for those focusing on a specific product will appear here. Reports on previous meetings and information on those upcoming will also appear below.
