Article 1:
The Nation of Sweet is a partially-internet based, partially land based democracy based on decisions being carried out through discussion. All opinions are listened to and acknowledged. It is important that all citizens speak their mind in order for change to take place.
Article 2:
The official name of the nation is the "Nation of Sweet", or "Sweet" for short.
Article 3:
To become a citizen of Sweet, one must become a member of the Sweet Forums and/or add themselves to the list of a Sweet profile on an external social networking site. Preferably, the former as this will allow citizens to become active and take part in democratic discussions, along with retrieving the necessary documents.
Article 4:
The official language of Sweet is English.
Article 5:
The flag of Sweet is a tricolour consisting of Green, Orange and Yellow; with an orange and black hand figure displaying the peace gesture as the central image.
Article 6:
The motto of the Nation of Sweet is "Reputo question panton".
Article 7:
The Nation of Sweet is a constitutional monarchy, thus a single leader is appointed to rule the country.
Article 8:
However, it is the duty of the people to question this leader's decisions about the direction of the country. It is also the duty of the Leader of Sweet to listen and acknowledge the views and needs of the citizens.
Article 9:
In the event that the current Leader of Sweet dies or steps down as leader, then there will need to be a successor appointed. The successor must be chosen either by appointment of the preceding leader, or by democratic vote in an election.
Article 10:
As the country expands and the population increases, the Leader will appoint secretaries and departments to suit the country's needs.
Article 11:
Every citizen is eligible to join the government of Sweet. Every citizen may start their own department within the government to suit their needs. There is no limit on the number of departments that may be started in Sweet
Article 12:
The Leader of Sweet will not make any decisions about the direction of the country, without consulting the government.
Article 13:
The government of Sweet will not make any decisions about the direction of the country, without consulting it's people.
Article 14:
The government is not to interfere with the lives of the people of Sweet, nor are they allowed to evade the people's privacy.
Article 15:
The People of Sweet are a key part of this nation, both abroad and in residence. It is the duty of the people to take part in discussions, either online or in person to put across any issues they may have or any suggestions about ways to improve the quality of living.
Article 16:
The People of Sweet have the right to freedom, privacy and happiness. These are two key rights that are NOT to be breached by the government, fellow citizens or outsiders.
Article 17:
Sweet very much encourages the forming of diplomatic relations, alliances and friendships with other micronations, particularly those which are also based in Great Britain. Forming relations with like-minded micronations will help Sweet become more noticed, allowing the nation to gain more citizens and to prosper.
Article 18:
Forming relations will mean that if a fellow micronation is attacked or endangered, we will be able to provide aid for them; and likewise if Sweet was to be endangered.
Article 19:
In forming a relationship with another micronation, Sweet must write up a treaty with this nation to highlight the terms of the diplomatic relationship. This must be done to ensure that the integrity, purpose and existence of Sweet is not jeopardised.
Article 20:
If a micronation, that Sweet is holding an alliance or recognition with, is suspected of breaching the treaty in any way, then Sweet will be obliged to end this relationship for the greater good.
Article 21:
If a micronation, that Sweet is holding an alliance or recognition with, is caught deliberately stealing citizens from Sweet, then Sweet will be obliged to end this relationship for the greater good.
Article 22:
In order to maintain Sweet as a blissful and free place, some laws should be put in place solely to protect the rights of the people.
Article 23:
Capital punishment and corporal punishment are illegal in the Nation of Sweet.
Article 24:
The sole penalty for any crime committed in Sweet is that the offender is deported from Sweet. If they hold a Sweet citizenship, then this may also be withdrawn.
Article 25:
Convicted offenders have the right to appeal against their sentence if they believe it to be unjustified.
Article 26:
It is against the law for any citizen of Sweet to do anything to harm or abuse the liberties of a fellow citizen.
