Up-Date & News

The date has been booked for Thursday 18th September, 2008 at 1400 hours

(date & time now confirmed with the National Memorial Arboretum).

Rev Alan Drake, Mr Ian Coulton (a serving Officer with Yorkshire Ambulance Service & the Salvation Army) and Rev David Franklyn (a serving Paramedic with East Midlands Ambulance Service) have all agreed to play a part in the service.

Piper: Seth Myeni, Scottish Ambulance Service

Bugler: Position still vacant (would you like to play?)

Brief outline of Day's events:

Starting at 1400 hours

Short service in Chapel

Then move to Ambulance Garden of Remembrance

Reading of 'Roll of Honour' (names of those added since 2006) 

Unveiling of two extra tree plaques

Last Post and Laying of wreaths etc

Refreshments

Please arrive early so you can enjoy the autum colours of the Arboretum and  have a meal prior to the Reunion. There is ample free parking and the ambulance site and Arboretum is wheelchair friendly

By becoming a 'Memorial Site Friend' you would be helping to ensure, through a regular subscription, that the Ambulance Services National Memorial and Garden of Remembrance continues to flourish and that its successfully reflects the rightful pride we have in the Ambulance Service and in honouring our fallen colleagues. We believe the Memorial stands as a fitting and lasting tribute, but both the garden and the Memorial requires a planned maintainance programme. We would urge you to become a 'Memorial Site Friend' so this historic site can be maintained and preserved for future generations to enjoy, thank you.
