Training

Nathan first stepped on the ice in September 2002 when he was 3 1/2 years old. Since starting private lessons in March 2003, he has progressed from Basic A to Juvenile in 3 1/2 years. He usually skates two to three hours a day, six days a week. Now he has three skating lessons a week. He takes irregular off-ice conditioning classes. Nathan also takes piano, ballet, dance, yoga, and gymnastic lessons.

  • Double Axel (Slightly >1/4 cheated January 2007)
  • Double-Doubles 
  • Double Lutz (Landed first Double Lutz on April 14, 2005)
  • Double Loop (Landed first Double Loop on January 4, 2005)
  • Double Flip (Landed first Double Flip on January 2, 2005)
  • Double Toe (Landed first Double Toe sometime in December 2004)
  • Double Salchow (Landed first Double Sal on November 6, 2004)

Mastered skills: 

  • Most double jumps
  • Single axel
  • All single jumps: Waltz, Salchow, Toe loop, Loop, Flip, Lutz
  • Spins: forward scratch spin, back spin, sit spin, camel spin, flying camel, combo spins...
  • Learned various moves and footwork: spiral, spread eagle, Hamilton turns ...
