The Music City Monarchy

Nashville TN

1- Any size bra will do.  Make sure the cups are stiff and padded.  Position the bra around your head and safety pin in place.  Cut off the excess straps (that normally go around your ribs) and hot glue, safety pin or velcro in place.

2 - Cut off the shoulder straps.

3 - With chenille stems (pipe cleaners) and a glue gun, replace the bra straps with pipe cleaners.  You might have to twist 2 stems together to reach front-to-back.

4 - From the V point of the bra, make a chenille stem 'strap' from front-to-back.

5 - Do the same thing from side to side.  When finished, it should look like a tic-tac-toe grid. Ish.

You should have a pipe-cleaner cage of sorts.
This cage is what you will now weave your boa through.

Whatever you do - DON'T use a thin boa.
The secret to a magnificent bra hat is a magnificent boa.
The fuller the better.

Embellish your hat with beads, fringe, tassels, bling - the sky is the limit!

Please send me your pictures of your finished creation.
I'd love to show them off here!

Royal Greetings from Down Under,
I have just made my first Bra Hat from the instructions on the Nashville Queens Website.
Just wanted to send thanks for the instructions. So easy to follow.
Have attached a pic of the end result, I was the envy of all at our recent Race Day event.
