Great news! I have my laptop, the Sentia. The guys finally got around to fixing it! Unfortunetely, school starts back up again in less than a week... But good news is that I'll have my  laptop at school, so I can stay after, and write in the commons. The commons is a very good place for writing, it's calming.


Some bad news though. I can't afford to keep this site running on Premium, so that's gone. That means I will have to reformat the site, and have multiple chapters on each page, and quite honestly, I may need to find a new website, since I don't think I'll be given enough bandwidth.

I have never been more dissatisfied with customer service before. My Alienware Sentia arrived almost a month ago, and I immediately dropped it off at Microtech computers, which is a small business that repairs computers. I asked them to diagnose it, not fix it. Well it took them 2 weeks to look at it, then they decided to fix it without ever telling me what the issue was. So they fixed it 3 weeks later, without ever calling me once. To this day, they still never have, I've had to call them. Well guess what? They fixed it, then it "shorted out" which is a short term for the internal was fried, because of their neglegence. I expect them to replace the notebook for free.... god this delay is mindnumbingly annoying.

Good news!

I just ordered a laptop off ebay, it's an Alienware Sentia m3450. I got it for 250 bucks, because the screen was broken. I can get that fixed soon as well. I hope to be writing withing two weeks or so! (I noticed this and finished up the rest of the chapters that I hadn't done editing for, all the way to chapter 14. --Shadow162)

Update about where the stories are.

 

So I find myself with writers block, and the dark fact that my room with my comptuer is in the dark cold basement, when it's obvious that I like higher elevations, with light and warm temperatures. That's why I did so good in Florida. Well, until I get a laptop, expect this. I want a MacBook Pro, which is 2,000. I make about 100 a week, so I should get it by November, with Birthday money. Yeah. Sorry for the delay, you could always donate.

NEW POLL AND CHAPTER

New chapter again! Wow, I'm on a role. I suppose it's because of Spring Break, and everything will slow down again afterwards. I know you guys leave reviews, but the more I get, the more inclined I am to write again. Also, I bet it's because I have my mother's laptop to use. I mean, I am on the 12th floor of a Condo in Florida, I have an ocean view, the weather is 70 degress at low, and I have WiFi. This is where I am ment to be. I will most likely buy a beachside apartment someday, in a skyrise. I don't care about quality of air, rooms, anything, as long as I can get a good view... and weather. I love this. I'll be back to reality tomorrow. Maybe I'll get one more chapter in, we'll see. I have the whole plane ride to write as well.

I'm please to announce that we should soon be making actual money.

Yes, that's right, I just opened my first paypal account for this website. Soon, we should have a store, donation buttons, and such... Remember, staff is paid a percentage of the donations as well...

A long while since a major update... first off, I am announcing a public opinion poll. Daniel Flohr, my lead advertisement and graphic design agent has come up with the idea for a new name, Floating Hope for the novel. I really like this name, as it reflects the entire premise of the epic. I want to see if you all like it.

Chapter 12 is near completion, and may be posted today or tomorrow, hopefully. I have added new staff members, and have added two new character profiles, with the two new characters rescued in Chapter 12.

I want to remind you all to post frequently on the forums if you find time, I could really use the posts.

Also, remember to refer someone to this. I am working incredibly hard on this story, and it seems less and less people are reading it. Do your best to tell at least one person, thanks.

Today I have a little bit of news.
Steven (Don't know last name yet) Is now taking a roll in advertisment. We all know how our previous workers have failed to meet our goals, so let's try harder.
Also, I have recieved a new useable create-a-character. I was not given a name for this character though.
01 - Your Character is a... = Male
02 - S/he is _______ years old = 14
03 - His/Her Hair is  = Brown
04 - Eye Color = Brown
05 - Height (Pick for age) = Tall
06 - Sexuality (Nothing is going to be Adult rated) = Straight and Single
07 - Describe your character's attitude towards others = My character is very, very patient with others, but has a problem getting used to arrogant idiots and people who think they are superior to everyone else.
08 - Describe any particular skills = He's wise beyond his years, both smart and very worldly. In addition to knowing what a Government demanded education will give you and much more, he knows many odds and ends and is a good problem solver. He is also fairly strong, both mentally and physically. His shortcomings are being a "nerd", sometimes growing too attached to others, and being a little combative sometimes.
09 - Describe your character's past = He is only 14, so there isn't much to say about his past. He was always more student than jock, more academic than athletic. There are very few people that he considers true friends. He always preferred reading and video games to playing outside and physical activity. Around the time of UOS' events, he was living normally until he realized something was terribly wrong, at which point he went out in search of his friends and the girl he loves.

The next chapter is slowly chugging along. It's a 20 mile long coal train, being pulled by a Firefly.

Well... no update for like half a month. The reason? I don't have time. I find myself with hours of time AT SCHOOL, but sadly, I do not have a LAPTOP anymore. So this story will not go on, until I get one. All I need is a computer with a battery, and the capability to run Microsoft Word. So in the meantime, I have been writing the written version of my other unnamed novel about a military academy in Tokyo.

Oh the horrors of Writer's Block. I have no idea what I can do at the moment. I need help... there is a new poll up,
PLEASE EVERYONE VOTE, honestly, this is serious.

Welcome October. There will be no updates for a while, due to me not having any good time to type. I'm working now, taking AP and Honors classes, and trying to keep myself from becoming ill from stress. Sorry. Please help donate for that new laptop... please.

Chapter Eleven is out today, and is currently the longest yet, 3,200+ words. It's because I had time to type in school. Anyways, I think it's really good, because I didn't need to force myself to write it. I hope you enjoy it. Chapter Ten is up! Yay! I'll be working on Eleven at school and work, or whenever I get time. It should be up Sunday, don't have any other plans. Possible bonus if it's up early! Chapter 11 is done, and is really good. But damnit, one problem remains. It's on my laptop, which is now broken. God damn. The screen cracked, like the windshield on a car... Don't know how I'll figure this one out.

09 - Describe your character's past = You may find this weird but i've been angry and stressed out alot, please excuse me! Sometimes if anybody pisses me off I go out of my head which makes me stressed out.

As far as updates, AP has been bogging me down. Alot of reading, math, studying, and more for school. No time to write at school either.
I will have to limit updates to once a week, incredibly sorry. You would understand if you were in my posistion. Updates should now be on weekends, preferably Sundays. Ari folks.

Well this sucks. Chapter Ten is finished, but I can't add it. The website manager won't let me create another page. I click the button, and it just shuts down my browser. So I have no idea what the hell is happening, UOS is temporarly on hiatus. Thanks.

Now recently I've been suffering from Writer's Block. I'd appreciate if you all give me some ideas on the web forum. Sorry for no chapter today, but it might be a few days. Tomorrow school starts again. That means I'll be having less time to write, especially with me having Advanced Classes. Don't ever expect updates on Tuesdays, I have Civil Air Patrol those days.

Keep in tune though, Chapter Ten will be GUARANTEED finished by Wendsday. Hold me on that =p

Gone Premium. Yep, I sold my soul to freewebs. Exactly one month after opening to. Just kidding everyone, I reached my 20 page limit, and needed more space. I could only recieve 25 submissions a month, I get that much in one day @_@

Chapter Nine is up, and ontime. It's really long also. And GOOD. Unlike the horrible Eight. Only thing worse then that was the prologue.

Finally an update! Sorry it took so long, I have been traveling alot recently. I also got hooked on Garry's Mod 9 as well, and have been using my creative mind there instead. I will be returning full attention to this now, Chapter Eight is on schedule for Tuesday. Thanks all of you!

Well chapter seven has begun to be typed, expect it by then end of the day. However, I am rather disappointed people are not using my Chapter Review system. Any comments about the chapter go there, random chat goes in comments or ideas.

Hey everyone, I just got back from Kansas City. As you know, it takes about six hours to fully drive from Minneapolis to Kansas City, so I got plenty of writing time in on my laptop. I finished chapters five and six, and now am working on seven.
I would like to thank you for your guy's submissions to the Create - a - Character. So far, I have found only one that I am guaranteed to put in the story eventually. Here is the description from the email:

This character seems extremley real. No Ninja stuff, no dual machine guns. I wish for people to submit characters like this. Congratulations!
