Scary I know, but this is what happens when they moult. This was Ratchet in November 2004
and

This is Ratchet today (15/01/05) Hopefully she'll be back into lay soon.
She's a Welsummer and lays lovely deep brown, speckledy eggs.
This is some of their free range area and a bit of our view over the river.

This is their shady, camoflauged run, keeps out Luftwaffe bombers and some of the sun, it's south facing.

This is Ratchett on 18th March 2005, comb much bigger
and she's been laying 73g , brown eggs for 3 weeks now, about one every
other day.
This is Rosie on a sunny March 18th, Spring just a round the corner. hasn't
stopped laying since we got her in October.
Brackett basking in beautiful Spring sunshine. 1st day of my 2 week break

McQueen basking too, what luxury after the recent cold weather we've had.

Blue and Rosie check out the pots for edibles!!
Mc Queen with pale comb, cannot work out if this is healthy for her,
or that there might be something wrong. Her comb is just not as red
as the others, and never has been.
And, finally, for now at least, this is me and my man on New Years Eve, in fancy dress.

I know I don't look like I'm in fancy dress, but I went as a Sim, and have a Green, glowing diamond over my head.
