Kathy Lee Fawcett’s first book, In the Eyes of a Grieving Daughter, is a true story about a major event that happened to her and how she dealt with it. Most people can grieve, but there are many who have difficulties doing so. In the story you will find that Katie, the name of the woman in the story, has a lot of mishaps that get in the way of actually being able to sit back and just grieve. It’s a personal story and a very touching one at that. Not only losing one parent, but losing two in a short time, was not easy. Going back in time and reliving the whole situation was not easy, but it was her way of starting to heal from this major loss. Kathy hopes to touch the hearts of others and to help someone that may be going through something of this nature. Kathy’s motto is “everything happens for a reason, one that we may never know.” Always try and turn something that is negative into something positive and there will be a lesson learned in it all. This book is in two parts, and was designed primarily for religious thinkers. The first part is philosophical verse, entitled “The Moral Genesis.” This has two meanings, referring on the one hand to the nature of right and wrong, and on the other hand to why God (if He exists) could be justified in creating a universe where suffering is inevitable. Its purpose was to argue out certain ideas for consideration. It is a form of poetry that might be called “the poetry of ideas” as distinct from traditional descriptive or narrative verse, because it explores problems and sets out conjectures. Inevitably it will be controversial. It is in verse because, the author says, he finds that a natural way to think! The second part of the book consists of individual poems, and one or two short pieces in prose, about Jewish history, Israel, etc.
