Born in February 1948 and raised in Georgia makes me old south. The middle child of nine makes me crazy. My 11 grandchildren and raising a 10 year old keeps me on my toes. What can I say, I’m marvelous.
No, I really don’t know how to do this!
I was born in Macon, GA on February 17, 1948 to loving parents. I have seven sisters and one brother. We were all spoiled rotten with love.
I married for the first time at the age of 20 to be divorced 11 years later. The best thing about that marriage is my two boys. I would like to tell you that they are perfect angels but sorry, I can’t. They were good boys that grew up to be good men but they can’t walk on water.
After living as a single parent for 3 years, I met the best thing that ever happened to me. He is a loving and devoted Dad that became the father my boys needed. He had two boys so putting the four boys together; 10, 12, 14, &17, was quite a challenge but we made it. Now, they are grown with children of their own.
My working experience started in the early years working with the family on the farm. Graduation took me to a factory that manufactured bombs and then on to a payroll clerk with the same company. Several years running a day care in my home taught me how wonderful children can be and how they can find trouble in the strangest places. From there I tried being a teachers aide before settling into a position at a local bank. Unfortunately, my back decided to age faster than me so it threw me into early retirement. Now, I work with my husband and his brother. They are truck drivers so I’m their dispatcher. Finally a job I can do from my recliner when necessary.
My life, like everyone else’s, has it’s ups and downs. But I’m like a frog in a churn of milk, I keep hopping and sit on a pad of butter for a while just to slip off and have to start hopping all over again. But that’s life and it’s great not knowing what’s going to happen next.
