FIRST BOOK SIGNING

My first book signing was in Huntington West Virginia on April 29, 2006, at the Ohio River Festival of Books. The Festival began with a reception for Authors and Publishers on Friday evening at Big Sandy Super Arena. I signed at the Arena for four hours on Saturday. Read all about the Festival at the link below.

A BIG THANKYOU!

Thank you Charles for buying my first signed book at the Festival.  I do not have your last name, but I'm sure you know who you are.  Thank you again.

SECOND BOOK SIGNING

If you missed me at the Ohio River Festival of Books, my second book signing will be at the HIGHLAND FESTIVAL in Abingdon, Virginia on August 8, 2006 from 9:00 to 6:00.  Come and meet me and get your book autographed, I am looking forward to meeting you.

HONEY I'M HOME

I HAD A GREAT DAY

My second book signing was my first outdoor festival.  Abingdon is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited, with its old historic buildings.  I looked in one direction to see a horse drawn buggy and in the other direction a bus that looked like what I first thought was a real trolley.  I met three other authors during my day of signing.  Being interviewed on the local radio station was James Campbell, author of Luther's Mule and Moonshine Money and Misery.  The two other authors signing with me were Bridgett Anne Jackson, author of Secrets of a Hidden Trail, and Roger Gilmner, author of Kit Fox on the Prowl.  I am looking forward to another year and another Festival in Abingdon, Virginia.

AND OH BY THE WAY!

To Dorothy, the desk clerk at my motel, a BIG THANK YOU.  She might not have been at the Festival for the signing of the books, but asked for one without the glamor of the day.  Thank you, Dorothy, you will forever be in my prayers.

THIRD BOOK SIGNING

Book signing number three was on September 1 at Friday in the Park

Friday in the Park is a annual event in downtown Beckley, WV. Fridays in the Park began this year on May 12 and ended on September 1. Entertainment was amazing and I am looking forward to joining them every Friday in the 2007.

Thank you Jill for including Meet the Author.

A Big thanks to the dear lady who lives on Orchard Ave. who purchased the first book of the day. God Bless You!

Book signing number four was on September 9, 2006 at the 13th annual Kid's Classic Festival.

Events during the week long festival were as followed.

9/2 Mountain State Mini-Golf Tourney, Historic Ghost Stories at SMT Arts Centre

9/3 Peach Labyrinth painting at New River Park, then on to Tamarack for New World Circus Magic Show.

9/4 Treasure Walk on McManus Trail.

9/5 Bike /Skate Safety Clinic on trail near Eisenhower Drive shelter.

9/8 Make a Wish Concert at WWHS, Activities at Exhibition Mine and Youth Museum appearances by Clifford & Seth Franco, Ronald McDonald Show, Treasure Mine Tours

9/9 Uptown Kid's Fair - Various Booths & Fun. The sun was out as children gathered along the sidewalk awaiting the Parade. Games of all kinds, rides, face-painting, baloons and much more. Later that day Airplanes Rides at Raleigh County Airport, Celebrity game at Beckley Little League, 103CIR Home run derby &Groovy/Power Country punt, pass &kick competition. Ending the Festival, Fireworks lit up the skys over Beckley, WV.

I was honored to be included in the Annual Kid's Classic Festival. I enjoyed watching the children end their summber vacation and begin their new school year with a bang.

I would like to thank Jill who organized the Festival for including a Meet The Author Booth in this wonderful festival.

A big thanks to Janet who purchased my first book of the day. Another big thanks to a lovely couple from Point Pleasent WV. Dinah and Gary who purchased my last book of the day. God bless you all!

EMAIL SENT TO FRIENDS

Well I'm back from the Festival.  Sold four books and could have sold about 16 if I was able to take credit cards.  Those people took my business cards so maybe they will order from the publisher or one of the other on line venders.  I spoke with a bookstore owner from Kentucky, Mary Ellen introduced me to, and he took three books on consignment.  I was also give a card by the marketing director for Borders and she asked me to send her a book.  There may be an opening there, time will tell.  Anyway, I had a wonderful time, the reception was very casual and I listened to a talk by Sharon McCrum, the author of Saint Dale.  My husband attended all the programs while I was signing and seemed to have a good time.  Before any of you ask, I'm glad I went, I had a great time and met four PA authors.  I was also given cards from other publishing companies.  Oh when you check into the Holiday Inn as a signing author, you are treated like royality.  Would I do it again?  Yes!
 GOD BLESS YOU!

ANSWERS TO MY EMAIL

Mom,

So glad that you had such a good time.  I hope that the others order your book!  Love you lots.

Laurie

Great for you, Nancy. It sounds like you had a great time. It is nice to
be treated like royalty once in a while. Hey, we are royalty. We worked
hard writing, getting published, and promoting our books. We deserve some
royalty treatment.

 Have a great day.

If you haven't seen it I posted a thread on the message board about the book festival.

Mary Ellen

Nancy,
It sounds like you had a wonderful time.  I sure wish that my book had been out, but it probably won't be out until June. Do they have this festival every year?  I would love to go next year because I will have my book by then. Sound like you may have all kinds of prospects by going there. I think it would be a wonderful experience, and I hope you see many sales from it.  That is what we all need.  Just a chance to get out names out there. Keep up the good work.  I bet it really makes you feel like a writer.  HuH!
  Donna

Nancy,

Nancy I am happy for you and the festival. Seems like you really enjoyed yourself and I wish I could have been there. But there will be another occasion I am sure. God Bless.

Hey, more great news!  I'm glad you enjoyed it - all that worry for nothing!  You did well with the public relations side of things, who knows, maybe Borders will stock it.  Let me know what happens.
