Howdy! We’re cousins who live in New York City and who attend Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY together. Having grown up with one another, our relationship is much more like of a sisterly bond than a distant relative. Hey, we’re only 18 months apart so how can you blame us?

We like playing video games, going to the movies (A LOT), going to theme parks (Disney and Six Flags are favorites!), listening to all sorts of music, and of course, watching anime and reading manga. We got interested in anime and the like when Carla’s older brother went on a trip to Japan when we were toddlers. We had receved pokémon souvenirs only to see the show air in the US some five months later.

We officially started cosplaying in the summer of 2003. How did we get into such a nerdy outlet and money blackhole? Laura was surfing through the internet looking at random anime shrines when she found cosplay.com in January 2003. She played around with what characters she wanted to do and finally settled on Selphie from Kingdom Hearts (the perfect costume for a summer con too!). Carla eagerly joined the craziness as Tifa, her all time favorite video game character. The rest, as they say, is history!

The cons we mostly frequent are Otakon and AnimeNEXT. However, we plan on branching out and possibly going to Katsucon 2008, ACEN 2008 and at least one California con (help us decide by e-mailing us! ♥)

When will we stop? When we start eating ereal through a tube, probably.
