76. "That pile of dead toads From the courtyard Are sitting on your cushions," Screamed old Risu. "Bring me a shovel." 77. A student asked, "What is Old Risu when he gets up in the morning?" Old Risu asked his students, "If this is all a dream, who sits before you?" The sensei answered for them, "3 pickled radishes and a penguin." 82. Everyday Old Risu taught his students. One day he disappeared returning the next day. "Where were you," asked a student? "Teaching toads a lesson," said the sensei. 83. A new student asked, "Explain drink a cup of tea Dharma." Old Risu looked at the ground and said, "Why are you so angry all the time?" 84. A student asked, "What is the sword of the ancients?" The sensei folded his hands and said, "Uncooked bread dough." 85. Walking through the garden A student noticed that Old Risu ignored a Buddha statue But bowed to a chattering squirrel. 86. "If Amida dwells in the West Then where did Bodhidharma come from? It must have been overcrowded," Said Old Risu. 87. A student went for tea. "Good morning sensei," he said. Old Risu pointed out the window and called, "Sensei!" 88. In the middle of sitting Old Risu stood up. "None of you wants to work So you might as well sit up here." He then left the hall. 89. A student asked the sensei, "What is formless form?" Old Risu replied, "A dismembered toad." 90. In an interview Old Risu asked, "Are you stopped yet?" The student answered, "oh, come on now!" "What, me too," said the sensei. 91. "What is the difference between us," A student asked Old Risu? "When I drink tea I drink tea. When you eat rice you think of home." 92. "If a baker gave you a donut with no hole What would you say about him?" Answering for his students, Old Risu said, "Already half way there." 93. After hours of sitting Old Risu told his students, "Seemingly well done. What are your thoughts on the matter?" 94. Old Risu asked a scholar, "If you are an authority on the scriptures, Where do you get it from?" The scholar replied, "books of course." "Half a pound of crap in the oven," Said the sensei fanning his nose. 95. "If a toad crossed your path, Do you follow him to see what he is up to, Or do you go your own way," Said Old Risu to his students? "Croak, croak," said the sensei hopping. 96. "If there is only this time, What will you do about supper," Old Risu asked his attendant? "Some things never change or ...?" 97. One day a student swept leaves Outside Old Risu's room.
