The NAMAKWA FESTIVAL is a celebration and extension of Arts, Culture, Tourism and SMME Development in the Namakwa District.

The Namakwa Festival is the fastest growing community based cultural festival in South Africa, with performances from all over South Africa and enquiries from countries like Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, USA and UK to perform at our festival. With an increase of attendance from 3000 people per night to more than 20 000 people per night. SMME's increase from less than 10 to more than 150 including in a competition supported by the Department of Economic Affairs. Temporary jobs created from 15 to 55; from 10% media exposure to more than 85%; reaching young people from 50 to more than 350 in productions; and from less than 10 sponsors to more than 55.

This year we will be celebrating of 5th year of festivities as from 28 November to 02 December 2007 on the Sportsgrounds, Springbok; showcasing indigenous cultures and the celebration of the creative spirit of the people of the district through music, dance, drama and storytelling in a cultural village.

For this festival to be a success, we fully rely on our partnership with the private sector, government and non-government institutions and individuals. Without you this festival cannot be sustainable.
