Fighting Styles:
(Deis Ojana 'Blade Art')-A typical form consists of the draw and
cut, a finishing cut, cleaning the blade and returning it to the
scabbard, all without looking away from the opponent.
(Manji Kundo 'Wrestling Style')-Combination of kicking, punching,
throwing, falling, choking, joint locking and a myriad of weapons
techniques into a beautiful and dynamic 'hard-soft' style, emphasizing
speed and fluidity.
(Juoq Sou Wei 'Blade Art')- is an exacting sword
art, with an emphasis on precision and attitude over speed and strength.
(Asteq Muharo 'Iron Fist Style')- focuses not on punching or
kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control
of them or to throw them away from you.
(All styles can be used separately but are usually combined to form a deadlier 'flow' and larger move system.)
Other Skills:
Trained in many arts of infiltration and stealth movements that
require more mental and psychological toughness than brute strength.
Developed many contacts with alien species and other
crime organizations that give him a 'hand' in a variety of dealings.
Due to the above skill, able to understand a multitude of languages such as Twi'lek and Huttese.
Background/History:
(Part 1)
One of four children being brought into the family at the time,
Garrick's birth attached him to a life and level of crime seen only by
a Cadrimos family member. This was due to the business and line of work
that the group was involved in: heading and operating the 'Lotus' crime
syndicate.
The syndicate dealt solely in assassination runs or infiltration, and
anything that may fall under those categories. If a contract needed
someone, or something to 'disappear' or be delivered to them, they
contacted 'Lotus'. The organization was stealthily covered by many
fronts and diversions; all placed to have the perfect shroud of mist
replace their tracks.
After a group of children had worked to the point where their skills
would no longer be as effective as they were upon the start of their
career, four others were brought into the family to take their place.
The others would become the children's teachers, family members and
advisors, guiding and directing them to become the best 'candidates'
for the job. This is the reason Garrick was given life, and how he
became one of the most deadly assassins that ever had emerged with the
name 'Cadrimos'.

After he had received the extensive training and acquired the
appropriate skills to successfully complete a contract, (in his case,
the age of 17) Garrick was sent to work immediately. His first job
involved the extraction of construction plans for a high-velocity dart
delivering a combination of many parasites hazardous to humanoid
health. Once Lotus heard of a rival faction's plans to put the weapons
into production, they realized that it could be easily used against
them and sent someone to ensure its elimination.
Once completed, Garrick returned with evidence of the production
termination (a piece of durasteel removed from the building's debris)
and a sample of the dart in-hand. Since he had finished so quickly and
left no trace of his actions behind, he was immediately given another.
The second contract was successful as well, and soon enough,
Garrick was trusted with much more than a regular 'employee', but
directed other contracts as well, sometimes even working with his
brothers and sisters. (the other 3 Cadrimos assassins at the time)
This similar chain of events seemed to go on flawless: contract
after contract, completion after completion, until... Denon became one
of the headquarters of the Imperial fleet, an occupation the Cadrimos
family would never forget-
"Master Garrick?" The butler muttered cautiously.
Garrick slowly turned around and replied, "Yes?" as he waited for an answer.
"Well, an unknown transport has landed within the sector, Mistress Holly asked to inform you."
"Ahh, yes." Garrick muttered sarcastically. He also took a moment to
appreciate his contacts at the landing areas, "My sister always feels
the need to give such news. Is there any importance behind it, or
merely a report?"
The butler's expression change suddenly, and it was obvious this was not a report&
"The transport contains a drop-party of Imperial troopers, their fleet has reached Denon..."
As he received the news, Garrick's fist tightened, and his care-free
attitude changed into a glare that would make nearly anyone feel uneasy.
"Give orders to station guards at every entrance, place sniper-units on
the higher floors and prepare a transport...just in case."
"Yes, Master Garrick"
With that, the butler disappeared into the corridor, leaving Garrick to
prepare an escape plan, or an assault on the Imperials. Anyone who
planned on removing order from a normally peaceful planet (aside from
the occasional mass murder, assassination, etc.) was an enemy to the
Cadrimos family, and everyone on Denon.
Garrick thought for a moment, realizing the magnitude of the
situation and began fumbling with the ComLink located on his desk.
Before he had a chance to dial in his siblings Comm codes, the speaker
hissed and announced:
"Gar, are you available?" The voice was distinct, and he knew
immediately who he was speaking too, his younger sister Holly. Even
with the overwhelming background noise apparent, she was the only one
who addressed him in that shortened form: 'Gar'.
"Of course...you sent someone to inform me of the Imperials situation, what is to be done?"
Holly hesitated; it was even obvious over the interference of the ComLink.
"I thought I'd leave that up to you," she let out a laugh, although it
was short-lived, "I've been receiving intelligence from all over the
sector, they're advancing outward, almost in a circle."
"...How long before forces reach the building?"
Holly could tell his voice was growing louder with every word, and she made an attempt to console him.
"Don't worry, I doubt they even know of our existence...and even if
they do, no one in the history of this organization has made it into
the tower alive."
Garrick sighed; he knew his sister was right.
"True, although they might wonder what a building of this size is doing in this sector, when they do...they'll come."
"And we'll be prepared..." Holly muttered softly.
Garrick terminated the connection and walked towards the hallway,
his boots were the only thing making noise. He walked quickly through
the corridor, stopping suddenly several times to check the tower's
security status. Every time however, things were operating normally,
and no alarms had been raised.
This did nothing for his suspicion though, rarely anything did. The
Imperials were on Denon, and they must plan on invading the entire
city. Why else were they deployed? This set in another feeling of
uneasiness, making his legs move faster, and his heart beat quicker.
Garrick planned on taking the elevator to the higher floors, checking
in on the guard-units stationed there. At least he would have something
to do, and be aware of what was going on. As this occurred to him, he
reached the elevator and set the lift for the appropriate floor,
punching several keys rapidly.
The lift responded as it was expected to, lurching upward with the
familiar 'hum'. The number near the controls kept increasing: '76, 77,
78...' and Garrick stood waiting until this process was interrupted by
the main alarm, the loud series of frequencies ringing in his ears.
Garrick smiled, and muttered softly, "change of plans..." The lift
came to a stop after he depressed the designated key, and he re-entered
a floor number. This one however did not result in a security
check...this floor, level 115, was that of the armory.
As the lift reacted to the change in destination, Garrick took in a
deep breath. It was difficult to control his anger in a situation such
as this. Having the only home you've even known attacked by an enemy
you have done nothing to can spike your temper. Garrick exhaled,
pressing a key on his ComLink.
"Security, this is Garrick. I need someone to encrypt the access codes
to the armory. Change it every twenty-five seconds, and send the new
code to my datapad every time you do. I don't want anyone except my
siblings or myself on that level, understood?"
The link was silent for a moment, then someone spoke up:
"Authorization?"
Garrick was annoyed. He had put this procedure into action, but it was frustrating to deal with it at this time.
"Jakireth" Garrick muttered.
This code reminded him of the time he had completed his first job for
the syndicate, and was appropriately given a name that had someone to
do with that situation. It happened like this throughout the
organizations history; everyone who successfully completed their first
contract was given a name that high-lighted their best choice while
working. For Garrick, this was 'Jakireth', meaning 'Blade' in Juoq Sou
Wei, the fighting style used most often by the syndicate.
"Of course Master Garrick."
As the conversation came to a close, the elevator began slowing to
a manageable speed, eventually stopping at the appropriate floor. A
vibration was felt as the magnetic clamps seized the elevator, and a
notice alarm was emitted from the lift panel. Garrick stepped to his
right, shooting a look at the 10-digit number of his datapad. "6, 3, 2,
8..." Garrick mumbled as he entered the code, hastily punching the
keys. Finally having the relief of seeing the doors slide open, Garrick
stepped out, surveying the area.
It was mainly an empty corridor, durasteel panels lining the walls,
and a detection system covering the air vent. The only way to get in
without being discovered was through the elevator, and that was on
lockdown. Garrick smiled widely when his eye caught the shimmer of the
blast doors. They were his design, and virtually indestructible. If
there was anything Garrick Cadrimos cared for dearly, it was his vast
array of weapons and technology stored within the room waiting behind
those doors.
"Retinal scan complete." The security system chirped after Garrick had
completed the last of the vault's entry procedures. The massive
durasteel opening was soon revealed, and the interior would have envied
the shine and preciousness of a thief's finest jewel. The room was
perfectly arranged and organized, with shelves lining every wall and a
respective weapons load out stacked neatly within.
Carefully overlooking the scene before him, he spotted a Jeuhn' Tyrar
Blade, its respective scabbard, a Heavy Plasma Pistol already tucked
neatly in its holster and a set of 12 stun pads. Garrick grinned almost
evilly as he put on the newfound gear, and grunted in a fit of
frustration as he tried to place the stun pads somewhere within reach.
After this little battle was over - which Garrick did eventually win -
he made his way to the nearest ComStation located in the room. To his
dismay, the entire communications, security, and transportation units
were entirely blocked out, and could only be activated by an extremely
long and aggravating access code. Fingerprints, retinal scans, weight,
and even a DNA sample were required to fully remove the block. At one
point, he almost found himself laughing gleefully at the genius ness of
his secure design.
"The wonders of technology..." Garrick mumbled happily. Even though no
one was around to agree, he found that ones opinion is only valid if
that person feels it is truthful.
"Direct system override completed," the voice announced choppily from a
speaker overhead, "proceed to access log and make selection..."
After the ComStation was finished stating its message, Garrick made a
mental note to replace the speaker system in that area. Anything that
didn't work properly when it has no reason not to had a tendency to
annoy him.
"Dial-in 'Terran Cadrimos'," Garrick said clearly. The communicator
beeped back in acknowledgment, and made a low hum as it completed the
action.
"Yes, little brother?" The voice over the ComLink said sarcastically.
Terran always liked to revel in the fact that he was superior in age.
Garrick made sure to emphasize the 'sigh' over the link and said:
"You sound surprisingly calm with enemies overrunning our home&" Noting the lax tone in his voice earlier.
His brother snorted back, and if it had been any louder, it would have replaced the sensation of rolling one's eyes.
"I'm taking a team down. They're having trouble breaching the higher
floors with your lockdown procedures in place, but I want to ensure
their immediate removal,"
Garrick nodded in approval in the direction of the wall, and listened
to the rest of the message, "It would be greatly appreciated if you
could do the same, I'm not sure how many troops they have down
there..." Terran said hopefully.
"I'm on my way..." |
