Oglethorpe County 2 Meter ARES Net Format

CQ,CQ,CQ, Calling the Oglethorpe County Amateur Radio Emergency Service Net. This is (name callsighn), net control for this evenings net. This net meets every Friday evening at 7:30 pm local time on 147.375 with an upshift and tone of 127.3 hertz. We appreciate Ralph K4TQU for the use of this repeater for this net.

This net meets for the purpose of: training, planning, practicing and discussing activities of the Oglethorpe County ARES and other amateur radio groups. Any Emergency traffic will be handled with top priority during this net. If you have any emergency or priority traffic, please call (callsighn). (handle and rout traffic or none heard)

If you need to pass emergency traffic during this net, please notify net control and your traffic will be handled acordingly. During the net, please direct all traffic threw net control, (callsighn). This net is open to all amatures interested in particapateing in ARES activities. Membership is not required but is encouraged. To check in, say the words, “this is”, unkey the repeater and then continue with your name and call sign. Please mention any announcements or other traffic you may have for the net. Please check in 4 at a time allowing net control to recognize the stations who have checked in.
