This webpage is dedicated to telling the story of my VBAC. For those unfamiliar with the acronym, VBAC stands for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Shortly after the birth, my uncle responded to my birth announcement saying "What is VBAC? Very Brave And Courageous?" to which I replied "YES. That's exactly it."
But before you click through the pages and read the story, really, all you need to know can be summed up by these two pictures. Worth a million words, truly.

The top picture? Those were my first moments meeting my son Aedhan, my abdomen open, my uterus dissected, surrounded by strangers.
The bottom one... part of my first moments with my son Colum, birthed at home in my living room with only those who love and support me there.
The thrill of love as I touched my children for the first time was the same.
But the way they entered they world was so so different.
(These pages are still being written. Bits and pieces are coming out of me as I have the time and the strength to write. There may be gaps and out of sequence pieces added.... and the pictures are coming first. It seems that they are helping me write, to see the images of the birth. Keep checking back as I add and observe the creative process as I add delete and edit and create the story of My Big Ugly VBAC)
