Mythobolus
is On Our Way to Your School!
Mythobolus
members are dancers and mask artists
who believe that by sharing folklore with young audiences, they can
help promote cultural diversity and heritage.
 We tell these
stories
through mask performances and teaching residencies. The residencies may
be in mask making, mask movement theatre techniques, or both. These may
conclude with a performance by Mythobolus or by the children who have
made the masks. We believe that by communicating our enthusiasm for the
richness of folk cultures, we can open up the fascinating world of
myths and masks.
Our repertoire includes myths from Africa, Bali,
China, Italy, Japan, Native America, South America, Viet Nam, Turkey
and Estonia.
Teachers can relate these myths to areas in the world students are
studying. |
