Mathematical graphics software

	<intro>For sketching graphs, solving inequalities, visualising calculus or just for mucking about with. All nerds need good graphing software. All the software here is free (both beer and speech), and runs quite happily on Microsoft Windows. I haven't included the most hardcore of softwares either because of them being too CLI based or only running on proper Operating Systems, thus not suiting you crazy conformist rodent stroking maths students.</intro>
 <product name="Vofce" url="http://vofce.sourceforge.net/">
Written in Java, this is a very lightweight program for sketching very simple graphs.
 <rocks>

Written in Java, ergo is platform independent and can be run off a USB key.

Incredibly easy to use; really friendly interface.

Exports to every format under the sun.

	</rocks>
	<sucks>

Cannot handle inequalities.

Cannot handle any form of calculus.

Limited flexibility, can't change that many colours.

	</sucks>

 <product name="Crispy Plotter" url="http://sourceforge.net/projects/cplotter">
An excellent toy for sketching graphs in, through an impressive GUI, included is a plug in to play your graphs as sound! This is great fun, but not all that useful.
 <rocks>

Can turn graphs into sound

Looks excellent and has a flexible colour scheme.

Runs straight from .exe, no need for installation.

 </rocks>
	<sucks>

Cannot handle inequalities.

Cannot handle any form of calculus.

Cannot evaluate points.

	</sucks>

 <product name="Graph" url="http://www.padowan.dk/graph/">
This is the closest to Omnigraph, which I'm used to using at school. It does most everything that you'd want, if not in the most friendly of ways.
 <rocks>

Can easily handle all types of relationships and inequalities

Good capabilities for calculus: rates of change, areas and lengths are all easy to calculate.

Freedom to stick labels and shaded areas all over your graph, good for presentations.

	</rocks>
	<sucks>

Non-intutive interface, lots of fuss to insert a new function.

Aesthetic dissapointment.

	</sucks>

 <product name="FreeMat 2.0" url="http://freemat.sourceforge.net/">
The open source community's response to MATLAB, it seems more like a giant all knowing graphical calcuator than a graphics program. Patience with command line and scripting is required.
 <rocks>

Can do near anything, most of which I wouldn't understand.

Compatable with MATLAB, presumably useful for communicating complex ideas.

	</rocks>
	<sucks>

99% command line.

Documentation is rubbish.

O.k. I lied in the introduction, this one is only free like beer but please don't go complaining. This user-(including screenreader)-friendly NASA application is an awful lot of fun.
 <rocks>

All types of amusing novelties, from sounding out graphs to launching rockets.

A text-book explination of every graph you draw, generated as you work.

An astronomical opotunity for making NASA jokes.

	</rocks>
	<sucks>

Can't handle calculus or inequalities.

One graph at a time.

Horribly slow and unsteady.
