Becoming more Spiritual

So, how may we become more spiritual?

The answer lies in our acceptance and practice of certain beliefs.

There are some things you can see with your eyes and others which you can only see with your heart.  For example, a spiritual person believes that they are a soul with a body and NOT a body with a soul and that they are NOT human beings having a spiritual experience here on Earth, but rather SPIRITUAL beings having a HUMAN experience here on Earth.  They believe that their physical body is an outer garment - mere packaging for their true essence - their eternal soul, which is part of the Divine.

They know that there exist other senses beyond our 5 physical ones and through these they may experience an awareness of Heaven - the invisible realm - a realm they not only believe in but consciously visit on a daily basis through prayer, meditation and visualization.

They proclaim that if God created them then He must have done so for a specific reason.  And they believe that reason is to help their fellow man while they are here on Earth.

Love thus dominates their behavior - just as it did Christ's, the Savior of all Mankind.  For them there is nothing so strong as true gentleness, nothing so gentle as true strength.

You have an immortal soul.  It is your true

essence and is yoked to the Divine.

Christ prayed constantly.

So then should we, no matter what our age.

Open your heart.  Show Love to All.

This is the secret to all Unity.

Hell exists - mentally AND physically.

                Wise Books

      Seminars

Spiritual Web Sites

Teachers can come in many guises.

You are never alone.

Christ's angels watch over all who

have accepted Him.

To them Hell is a very real place, a place of separation and pain and loneliness, a place without time or opportunity or love, a place that exists not only emotionally and spiritually but also physically - albeit in another realm.

But they know that they are watched over, guided and kept safe by Protective Spirits or Guardian Angels - just as Christ was - and that by following the spiritual path an abundant life shall be theirs - just as Christ promised.

A spiritual person also believes that when they need to learn or know something these Guardians will ensure a teacher appears to help them.  These teachers can take many guises - people, books, seminars, radio and TV programmes, even web sites which focus on the spiritual and the supernatural.

If you, for instance, have come here today for the first time be not so foolish as to think it has been by accident.  A Greater Power has brought you here.  A Power beyond all reckoning, all expression.

Spiritual people know they are never alone.  They recognise this world is a classroom, a place where we go to learn valuable lessons and evolve to a higher plane.  They KNOW that God is always with them, never more than a heartbeat away.  Unlike non spiritual people who, if they believe in a supreme Power at all, regard Him as a separate and distant entity who looks down on us from on high and will some day hold us accountable for our actions, a spiritual being believes the kingdom of God lies both within and outside of them - it envelops them like a cocoon - and God's agents are always by their side.

A non-spiritual being thinks this is all claptrap, of course.  It's ok to believe in aliens, ghosts and near death experiences, but an unseen world, an invisible realm that exists beyond your 5 senses where an all powerful loving compassionate God rules?  That's crazy!

Their philosophy - or at least one many would have you believe they accept - is you're born, you live, you die, and you do it all by yourself - end of story.   There are no invisible forces to comfort us or support us or listen to us when we ask for help.  We're on our own and that's it, when you're dead, you're dead, 'nuff said.

We are all children of God.  This means that we are all linked by our souls and to endanger one endangers all.  It is for this reason that the spiritual strive for harmony with others and reject the use of force over another except in the most extreme circumstances.  Even then they will seek to act in a spiritual way - to hurt rather than wound, wound rather than maim, maim rather than kill - because all life is precious and none may be replaced.

Power, dominance, rank, position, wealth and status are all important to non spiritual beings.  This ultimately stems from their feeling of separation from God and their need to prove themselves as 'worthy' and 'capable' in the eyes of the physical world.

But because a spiritual being feels connected to the Divine and through that connection to everyone else around them, they see life very differently.  They are motivated by a higher purpose in life.  They know that what external things they need in their life will come to them - because Christ promised that the Lord would supply all their needs.  External power is unimportant to them.  They have no need to dominate or control others or accumulate material possessions - because they are secure in their own self.  Inner power is what matters to them, their ability to focus on a higher level of consciousness, to show  compassion to all and to live purposefully by serving others in whatever way they can.

Their doctrine is to give to others not to gather to oneself.

Another person's status or physical appearance is of no importance to a truly spiritual person.  It is what is in their heart that matters.  Spiritual beings strive to see the Divine in all with whom they come in contact and always seek harmony.  This generates a serenity within them which, while not entirely eliminating, does most certainly minimize conflict and contention within their life.

When a mind is yoked to the Divine all thoughts of battle, judgment and disharmony vanish.  Spiritual beings are pacifists.  They answer hatred with love and rejection with acceptance.

Where there is no conflict there

 is neither victory nor defeat

'For your Father knows the things you

have need of before you ask Him'

Matthew 6: 8

'Lay not up for yourselves treasures

upon earth, where moth and rust doth

corrupt, and where thieves break through

and steal.  But lay up for yourselves

treasures in heaven, where neither moth

nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves

do not break through nor steal.  For

where your treasure is, there will

 your heart be also.'

Matthew 6: 19-21

As you sow so shall you reap - in

life just as much as in the garden

Through Meditation you may

become closer to your Creator

There is a law of which many speak known as the Law of Karma - although some prefer to call it the Law of Cause and Effect. In essence this law can best be summarized as 'you reap what you sow' or 'what goes around comes around'.  Almost everyone, spiritual and non spiritual, know of this law.  However, whilst a non spiritual person has a tendency to flaunt this law with impunity thinking they will escape its consequences, a spiritual being knows that this law is insurmountable and thus strives to live their life in an ethical and loving way.

A practice few non spiritual people indulge in but ALL spiritual beings perform daily is that of  meditation.  Some Mystic Christians refer to this activity as their 'Quiet Time'.   This is an integral part of any spiritual person's life, a time when they retire from the hustle and bustle of the external world and seek to still their mind by reflecting on the glory of their Creator and allow their soul to merge with His.  Prayer and meditation is particularly rewarding during such moments, frequently generating a sense of immense calm and serenity.

The practice of forgiveness is one of the cornerstones of a spiritual person's life.  Christ forgave all who wronged Him and told us to do likewise.  Forgiving another who has wronged you can transform you.  When all the acrimony, ill will, and resentments of the past are released, people bloom again and joy returns to their life.  Relationships with people in general improve, stress and anxiety diminish and compassion grows.  Hatred cannot be diminished by hate.  It may only be diminished by love.  The failure to forgive not only paralyses your spiritual growth, but impedes your physical health and emotional well being.   A spiritual being can still recognise and disapprove of someone's behavior, but in their case they are repulsed by the sin and not the sinner.

Divine Guidance plays a big part in a spiritual person's life.  Quite often non spiritual people have 'hunches' or get a 'strange feeling' about something or, if they're female, experience 'women's intuition'.   Many times these feelings are ignored or shrugged off and the individual gets on with their life as normal, only to discover some time later that their instincts were spot on and had they listened to them they could have avoided much heartache.

Spiritual beings DO listen to these urgings. In fact because of their awareness of a world beyond that detected by their 5 physical senses they don't believe in coincidence and actually regard the feelings as God speaking to them, warning them of something to avoid or encouraging them to proceed with something.

Non spiritual people have a tendency to scoff at another's willingness to listen to this 'inner voice', even, at times, pouring doubt on their sanity.  Spiritual beings know however that there's really nothing strange about the situation at all - if we can talk to God in prayer then what is to stop Him talking back to us?  Most especially during those times when we need guidance and support, love and encouragement.

'Then Peter came up and said to him,

"Lord, how often shall my brother sin

against me, and I forgive him?

 As many as seven times?"

Jesus said to him,

"I do not say to you seven times,

 but seventy times seven."

Matthew 18: 21-22

There is a magical invisible realm which

is God's kingdom known to all truly spiritual beings.

Like any loving parent Our Father in Heaven

wants to protect and guide His children.

Neither time nor technology can

 usurp Christ's authority

Once you realize that Our Father in Heaven loves you and start to grasp the DEPTH of His love for you, then you will see nothing strange in Him having a conversation with you or His wish to be involved in your life, as any loving parent would.

Truly, I can say unto you, that those who have reached such an awareness and surrendered themselves to Him have experienced - and will continue to experience - miracles in their lives.

Real miracles.

The living, breathing, loving Jesus Christ who walked this planet 2000 years ago is still every bit as alive and powerful today as He was then.  What He could do then, He can do now.  Neither time nor technology can usurp or erase His power or position.  The abilities and forces at His disposal then are every bit as much at His disposal now. Nothing is beyond Him.  Spiritual beings know this.  That is why miracles happen to them - because they believe.

Non spiritual beings put these miracles down to good luck or science or circumstance, insistent that nothing and no one can affect the physical world, least of all a prophet who died 2000 years ago or an old man with a white beard sitting on a cloud.

That is why they fail to see miracles happen in their own lives.
