LED's are the future lights in new cars. They consume considerably less energy and give out much more light provided the same wattage. Some incentives for switching to LEDs are their brilliant pure color and clear bulbs. LEDs can be purchase at almost any shop for the car enthusiast esp. on the bay, just type in the correct bulb number/type and add LED in the search. When selecting LEDs for any applications in the car, always select ones that consist of multiple LEDs in a cluster. The more isn't necessarily better, for example: for the license plate lights get only clusters of nine leds or less, for rear/brake lights get clusters of 20-32 leds. Never purchase LEDs with one bulb, regardless of it being bigger unless it is specifically rated at a higher wattage such as a 1W led. Remember to purchase only matching LED bulb size to stock filaments bulbsn such as "194" or "W5W" for interior lights. Only the colors white, orange or yellow can be used for front of the car, side marker, and/or side mirrors (only white for headlights, and orange yellow for sidemarkers). Red for brakes/tailights, Duh. White for reverse lights. Orange, Red, or Yellow for rear turn signals. White, orange or yellow for front turn signals and/or license plate lights. Any other colors not mentioned are illegal anywhere seen from the exterior of the vehicle when in motion.
Here are some examples of LED bulbs. In consecutive order are the stock 194/W5W bulb, 194/W5W Wedge LED, and cluster of 14 LEDs.
